i see some of you are having memory stick problems.
here is a quick fix:

After downloading the TOTALNewbi easyInstaller, dont start the "Start.exe"
instead do this:

1)Connect your PSP to your computer and format it. (make sure to backup lol)

2)Open the TOTALNewbi easyInstaller folder

3)Open the "Uniunbr.rar" (its inside the TOTALNewbi easyInstaller folder)

4)Once opened, you should see these files:
Folder==PSP, kd, and registry (manditory folders)
Updates==371.PBP (VERY important)
Other==msipl.bin (important)

5)Put all of these iteams on the root of your memory stick!!!!!

6)Exit USB mode and shutdown your PSP.

7)Insert your softmodded battery

8)When the battery is inserted, your PSP will turn on. (Now the memory stick LED and the wifi LED will show up!)

NOTE: You may not see any text. this is normal!!! if you dont see any text but the wifi LED and MS LED flash for a second, just press X and it will install 3.71 M33.
While doing this, DO NOT SHUTDOWN YOUR PSP!!!!!!! When it is completed, your PSP will auto-shutdown.
From their, all you have to do is swap the battery and turn it on.

Secondary NOTE: If you dont have any other batteries, then remove the softmodded battery, plug in the charger and power on your PSP. after it is powered on, you can insert the battery and charge your softmodded battery to 100%.
