Default Sonic Rivals 2 review by T.B.O.G

yo guys its your favorite brotherhood coming at you with another review for everyones favorite blue hedgehog....Sonic, it has been really sad that our blue hedgehogs releases ever since sonic heroes, completley went downhill. honestly ppl, what happened to the greatness, what happened to Sonic CD? what happened to Sonic Adventure 2? anyway, that isnt why we're here, this is about Sonic trying to make a comeback, and here we go

graphics 9 of 10
music 9 of 10
gameplay 7 of 10
story 8 of 10
voice-acting 9 of 10

-Graphics-
lets be honest, for psp this is as good as sonic graphics will get but this is really impressive, looking at the pics of the characters as they talk is really enjoyable to look at, when i saw MetalSonic i was astonished on how awesome he looked, not only him but everyone looked smooth clean, no sharp edges. the levels are also improved, a step up from sonic heroes, including the pop up icons and extras required of u to use and specials. as a special sonic fan from his very first debut, i like his start.

-music-
as soon as i started the 1st level as sonic, i already like the music singing, action pakced, wow thats how i like to start off a sonic game, some of the music skipped my mind because i was focusing to much on living but i like this music, truly awesome........where is the sound test? thats a minus

-gameplay-
OMFG this gameplay is too HARD, im serious i lost like 3 times on the 1st level, omg i swear i was punching my wall, ripping out my hair, and threw the UMD across the room, they throw you right in there with no tutorial"i mean cmon sonic heroes provided this."the controll is similar to the old style i mean like well x is jump of coarse but thats it, everything else is awkward for a sonic title, the pop up reaction commands for your character to get an edge is frusterating becuase you have to be lighting fast to catch it. its really fast, im running and i see it and press the button but it just dissapeared as fast as it came, what a load of crap, now my enemy is catching me and he is on my behind. "and im not really fast when reaction buttons differ, QUICKLY PRESS X, oops i pressed L" its that frusterating. your dash isnt at all helpful, first you have to make ur character stop running and god forbid you to do that. and somehow you will find your enemy mysteriously going faster then you know you ever could, your running at your max speed which isnt very fast, and your enemy is either catching u or so far ahead of you and the sad and frusterating thing is, u cant do a thing about it. however when you brawl your oppenent, thing of super smash bros, not much to say but this prty much makes up for the terrible race, now you can beat your revenge out of the fool you were racing.

-story-
good thing about sonic is that his stories always differ in major points, im not gonna spoil this for you but apparently the choa have been kidnapped and once again the master emerald has been stolen "some guardian Knuckles is, how many times has this happened?" thats all i can say, but this is going somewhere, with metal sonic involved and this new hedgehog silver, how cool can this story get?

-voice acting-
of coarse sonic was always one for having briliant and talented voice actors to really make these characters come alive, even in a bad sonic game, hearing these voices from the characters worked so perfectly that i could always relax and watch it reguarless if it was a slide show such as sonic rivals or sonic adventure 2, awesome job sega, a toast to your great ear and cast.

this sums it up as best as i can for Sonic Rivals. in short, this game IS worth getting, it is multiplayer, im warning you that you will probably get upset for the duratin of the game until you get good, but throughout the game, if u are a true sonic fan, the story will take you away from the agony that is the racing portion, there are sidequests such as find the chow etc, enjoy Sega Fans, and a happy thanks giving from the Brotherhood Of Gaming
