PSP to PS3 and backwards...
Hey all, I just posted this over on Gamepro's website, as I was having a discussion about this topic there, but thought it would be worth something here, for those who don't frequent GP's site.
"Ok, here is the deal after playing with the PS3 and PSP connectivity: If you have setup your account, with the PC Playstation Store, with an email that the setup on the PS3 doesn't or won't recognize, then you have to activate/deactivate b/t content, in order to play either of the content DL'd from either source. Let me explain my situation, and maybe that will be clearer...
I started my account with the PC Playstation Store, as I had not gotten my PS3 at the time. I set it up with my main email account, my Gmail addy, and everything was/is fine. I got my PS3, but when I went to set it up, it wouldn't take my Gmail account addy, and I had to use another email address, in order to register with the PSN, in order to download content. I DL'd Castlevania, for the PSP, off of the PSN Store, but when I went to "copy" it to my PSP, it said it would deactivate the certificate already on my PSP (I have 3 games: Beats, Wipeout Pure, and Hot Shots Golf2) for the content already there, in order for Castlevania to work. I thought this odd, and put off trying this until just a few minutes ago, and all the above occurred.
Now, I'm going to send Sony an email, and see what they have to say, b/c this just doesn't make sense. First, it makes no sense that the PS3 setup wouldn't take my Gmail addy, and second, I don't see why the PSP can't handle more than one certificate at one time. (Of course, I can see why Sony would have set it up that way, in order to thwart pirates...)
So, at this point, I am only going to DL games, for my PSP, off of the PC Store, rather than the PSN. Sucks, wish it could all be connected, but oh well... At least, I can play Castlevania SotN via Remote Play, but of course for that to occur, I have to have the PS3 setup on Remote Play, ie: sitting on, waiting for me to access it, in order for that to occur...
If anyone has been able to figure this all out, let me know."
If anyone has had this issue, let me know if you've been able to resolve it. I've sent Sony an email query about this, so I'm currently waiting for them to reply. (Which may take some time...)
