I recall getting a similar confusing message (though if it's that exact one, I don't recall) when I made mine. I don't think this is an error message, as my magic memory stick made in Vista has worked to mod four PSPs so far and will do its fifth tonight, my first test on a slim.

Effectively, the magic memory stick will work on any firmware, unless I'm really out of the loop. To reuse the memory stick, formatting it on the PSP should do the trick!

When I opened my psp battery case there was a silver casing around the psp and like an idiot I took it off then realized the motherboard was in a different place, it was located at the top, so I solder the 5th chip and did everything else perfectly. When I inserted the pandora battery into the psp NOTHING happened, so my question is, was it bad that I took off the silver casing or did I do something else wrong and can I fix this. Thanks and sorry for so many questions!
To be honest, I have no idea about this part. I just opened up a Slim battery myself, and may have messed it up. I'm sorry I can't be of any help there... However, when you say NOTHING happened, do you mean the screen didn't light up, or did you check the power light, as well? The PSP Slim with the pandora battery and memory stick mods blind--it does all the work on a blank screen. The only way you can tell it's ready to begin is if you stick in the battery and get a green light for power without flipping the switch. When it ends the light goes out.
I really apologise if this is all information you knew, I just wanted to help in any way I could. Good luck!
