the n64 was released in september 1996. it wasn't emulated fully until 1999, granted some nerd probably had it working in his basement a year before, but 99 was when it started playing the games well. 3 years on the n64, i'd say it'll probably be at least 5 for the ps3. expecially after seeing how hard of a time people are having with the ps2.
