The point is, then, people will actually use the search function, and then later, if they have a question, they will use the search instead of going into a random thread and going "Hey is the 3k hackable yet?!?!" He's not saying "Well if the question was answered it doesn't matter you can make a new thread to talk about it" he's saying that if it's an older thread you can simply make a new one that doesn't have 6 pages of stuff typed into it and a flame war going on inside it. Then you'll have just a normal thread again. Plus, you can't tell me when you see a thread that's been dead for almost 5 months and someone bumps it without even realizing it's been long dead, it doesn't annoy you in the slightest.
