I wouldn't say "fully hackable", because you can't do anything permanent to it. But there -are- a couple alternatives. 5.03 CheckHEN R2 with GEN-A (FULL) on a PSP 3000 allows you to play homebrew, iso/cso, emulators, and other things.
BUT DON'T BE A PIRATE. Pirates are not welcomed here. Lol. Here's another small tip:
DON'T TOUCH THE FLASH0, OR YOU WILL DEFINATELY GET A BRICK.
The thing is, these alternatives are temporary. If you shut off your PSP, it will revert back into Official Firmware. I suggest putting it in Sleep Mode when you're done using your PSP. That way you'll still have the temporary Custom Firmware when you turn it back on. I don't have links to post, but look around the site. There's quite a few of them with easy tutorials.
