Will the icon disappear if the UMD is not working? Does a closed circuit have to be present in order for it to show up? Is it possible for the icon to disappear once there is no longer a functional UMD drive? Thinking in this fashion, what you are suggesting could make sense.
Has anybody who has opened up their PSP disconnected the UMD drive and compared what happens to the icon?
