I bought the PSP to unbrick my PSP as there was nobody willing to lend me theirs to install make a Magic Memory Stick. I figured that the UMD was no problem since I could always install CFW on it and have no need for the UMD feature, but so far I have not been able to install CFW on it. I've tried Catb50s, Rain's, Total Newbie Installer, and Pandora Deluxe with no luck. Now I'm starting to thing that this 2001 has a TA-088 motherboard. I've heard of some software that identifies the motherboard type and version, but I haven't found it yet. If anybody has it or knows where I can look, let me know.
My goal now is to have the UMD working, but I don't know where to begin. If anybody has any suggestions I will give them all a try.
The PSP looks brand new! Go figure. | The program your looking for is called PSPIdent and you need CFW/ChickHEN to use it.
