How to: Browse all files in flash(0) |
Feb 20, 2008 - 8:14 PM - by Pirate-M.Lifnen |
I've seen this question asked too many times, and it's only going to get asked again, so to make it easier on all of us I decided to make this quick little guide.
First thing you'll want to do is to enter recovery mode on your PSP. If you don't know how to get there, I don't think you should be wandering around in this directory just yet, it's too dangerous if you mess up.
Go to: Advanced>Toggle flash(0)
Then, on your computer browse to your PSP's directory letter. Mine is "G:\"
Click Tools>Folder Options.
If you're on Vista, you may need to hold the "Alt" key to display the Menu bar.
In Folder Options, click the "View" tab. Select the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button.
Now uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" check box. [Read More] |
3 Replies | 1,190 Views | How To Transfer Music To A PSP Memory Stick< Step By Step > |
Feb 08, 2008 - 10:01 AM - by psp4lyf |
Even though the PSP is mainly a gaming machine, it also makes a great portable music player. You won't be able to fit your whole music collection on a single Memory Stick (though they get bigger and cheaper every day), but you can easily switch to new music once you know how to transfer the files. Difficulty: Easy Time Required: 2 minutes Here's How:
1. Insert a Memory Stick into the Memory Stick slot in the left side of the PSP. Depending on how much music you want it to hold, you may need to get a larger one than the stick that came with your system.
2. Turn on the PSP.
3. Plug a USB cable into the back of the PSP and into your PC or Mac. The USB cable needs to have a Mini-B connector on one end (this plugs into the PSP), and a standard USB connector on the other (this plugs into the computer).
4. Scroll to the "Settings" icon on the home menu of your PSP.
5. Find the "USB Connection" icon in the "Settings" menu. Press the X button. Your PSP will display the words "USB Mode" and your PC or Mac will recognize it as a USB storage... [Read More] |

Please sticky this
Ok, so you want to unbrick or downgrade your PSP but don't have a PSP capable of running homebrew apps. No problem! In this tutorial I will show you how to modify the battery's hardware to make it activate service mode.
This is our victim. Please note that while this concept may work on non-Sony batteries, only official batteries are guaranteed to have the same internals, so we recommend using one.
STEP 1:
The first thing you need to do is obviously crack open the battery. Surprisingly, the battery isn't very hard to get in to. In this picture you can see that I'm just using a guitar pick to slide in through an edge and slide around the perimeter of the battery to seperate the two halves.
STEP 2:
Next, we need to locate a certain chip. The chip has the model number S93C56 printed on it. We are going to need to desolder pin 5 and lift it off of the board. Here is a magnified view of the board, which shows where the chip is and which pin needs to be... [Read More] |
