Batteries have a limited lifetime. This means, after charging them an unknown numbers of time, they will end up loosing power and durability (like with mobile phones). If you have your battery in while having the AC addaptor and playing, the PSP will tend to work with the battery. But as it has the charger plugged, as soon as you play a little, it will start charging it. When its full again, it will start getting power from the battery, charging again and so on. Doing that is a waste. If you want your battery to last longer, dont charge it until its totally uncharged, and play with the AC addaptor as much as you can.
Also, dont try to charge the PSP without the battery. This mean, if you plug it is for charging or playing |

No dice, whenever I'm online my battery doesnt charge. Although I found one homebrew application called 'WiFi Sniffer' made from PSPdev. It allows you find WiFi spots. If the AC plug is not in, it uses battery. And the just opposite when you plug it in. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure it uses the WiFi card.

I play with my battery mainly because I bought a playstation portable, not a miniature ps2 with a built in screen, and btw, I also find it quite lame when people pay extra for a laptop and it never leaves the desk. |

eh, I have a dormroom, and I have both, but my laptop never leaves my side (well, my back I guess), whereas my dad pays $2,000 for a laptop which never leaves his desk, ever, when he could've bouhgt a much better desktop for half the price. |
