Disgaea 2 is a title worth to be bought; heck, I have D1-D2-D3, and D1 for DS. Bought D2 for PSP this time around. Now, how about giving me some useful piece of advice instead on my actual question?
I want to know what would be the procedure for me to boot back & forth between OFW 5.55 and CFW 5.00M33-6(or whatever was the latest version that I'll update to). I had read somewhere that OFW 5.50 and up won't work with a Pandora battery to boot on to unbrick or whatnot? | Screenshot your UMD, newfag.

disgaea 2 won't work
I tried to compilate the SCRIPTPACK.DAT but seeing the JPN having 140k lines and the US version only having 20k made it impossible for me to completely remake it to fit the JPN.
The good thing is that I can read every single thing in the game; story, menus, items etc...
Here are some lines taken from the game. Code: Well, how was I supposed to know you had someone that powerful in your group?!
Oh, and Etna, don't forget... No matter what you say, you're still my vassal!
You can play with your new friends today, but you'll return with me next time!
So, you better have fun now! Haahahahahaha!!
Rozy!? You were awesome! The way you beat the prince...totally awesome.
Where did all that power come from?
Princess. Can it be zat ze blood from your fazer has awakened?
Are you my enemy...?
That was too close... What are you doing!?
I am a being of solitude...Destined to gather the souls of fools... Sorry for massive text.
This is the uncompiled text part from the tutorial: Quote:
˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙[Tutorial: Character Specific Skills]Character Specific Skills are uniqueskills that each character has.You will learn character specific skills when you reach certain levels. You and I also have these unique skills.I don't know what level we need to learn them, but...Hmm. How exciting. If it's my unique skill, it better be extremely strong and gorgeous.*˙*
˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙[Tutorial: Magic]Magic can basically only be learned by [Magic Users] and [Healers].Magic users and healers will learn theirspecific magic when they reach a level.(Example: Red Mage ¨ Magic [Fire])Characters who aren't these jobs can also learn magic. See the [Extra Gain] sectionfor details. The effect range and distance of the magicwill increase when the weapon mastery of [Staff] is increased. It's important to think about whether to equip a magic user with a staff or anotherweapon. If you ask me, I'd make them equip a staff. There are 4 types of magic: Fire (Fire),Water (Ice), Wind (Wind), and Star (Star). For example, if you attack a character with -50% to wind with a wind type magic, you can do more damage than normal. On the other hand, if you attack a characterwith +50% to wind with a wind type magic, you will do less damage than normal.Resistance can be increased with item abilities. (Fire Resist-er,Water Resist-er, Wind Resist-er)These traits affect not only the defense tomagic, but to magic attacks as well. For a character with fire+50% using a fire spell and one with fire-50% using the samespell, the first will deal greater damage. So take good notice of the character's affinity to magic when leveling a magicuser.Only the star magic will not be affected bythe affinity or resistance of the attacker, and will apply a certain damage. Also, other than magic, remember there are skills that have certain affinitiesas well. When using a skill with an affinity, the attacker's affinity will not matter, but the defender's resistance mattersIn order to effectively apply damage, you should understand and make use of this affinity/resistance system.*˙
˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙[Tutorial: Lift & Throw]The battle commands [Lift] & [Throw] areimportant elements in battle tactics.Lift & Throw can only be done by humantype characters. Monster type characterscannot use this.Use [Lift] to lift up characters, thenselect a direction and distance to [Throw]the character.I'll introduce you to a few uses of thiscommand. If you're far from an enemy, throw a friend closer to the enemy. If you lift multiple characters in order, you can throw even further away.If you want to rid an obstacle that's far away, you'll want to use this method.(*It's actually very important!!)Also, if you lift a strong enemy, you can stop it from doing anything. On the other hand, you can lift your owncharacter to protect it from an enemy's attack. There's the [Stack Attack] where you attack an enemy while you have friends carryingeach other. There are many other ways to use this depending on your tactics. But remember the following:If you throw Prinnies, they explode.Take caution when you run into them. Also, if you end your turn with an enemylifted, the character lifting the enemy willreceive damage. The distance each character can throw is different, and if the height difference istoo much, you can't throw to certain places.Once you execute the throw command, youwill not be able to attack or lift for thatturn anymore.Lift & Throw can be key to clearing some maps. Try it out.˙
˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙[Tutorial: Geo Effect]The colored panels on the map are called[Geo Panels].And the symbols on the map are called[Geo Symbols].For example, if an Attack+50% Geo Symbol ison a red panel, all characters on the redpanel will receive 50% more attack power. There are interfering effects and there areadvantageous effects, but beginners shouldconcentrate on destroying the bad ones. When you destroy a Geo Symbol, the Geo Panelmay change color, or disappear. If you can change the colors and destroyall the Geo Panels, you can get a NullifyAll Bonus.By the way, you can turn on or off the Geo Panel display with the SELECT button.4˙
˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙Want to listen to [Lecture: Nullify All]Of course5˙I don't want to listený˙4
˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙[Lecture: Nullify All]The important thing is to make sure to eraseeach and every Geo Symbol.<Step 1>Check all the Geo Symbols on the map.Assume there are [Change Red] [Change Blue][Change Green] and [Nullify] Geo Symbols on this map.<Step 2>Check all the Geo Panels by pressing the˘ button and viewing the upper left list.Pretend there are [Red] [Blue] [Green] and[Yellow] on this list.<Step 3>Look and compare the Geo Symbols and Geo Panels.Notice how there are four colors for thepanel, but there is no [Change Yellow] Geo Symbol? You look at this missing color (in this caseyellow) and think based off this.<Step 4>Place the Change Red Geo Symbol on the Yellow Panel, and destroy it.Then the yellow panels will turn red.Now you have eliminated the yellow panels.<Step 5>Now place a Change Blue Geo Symbol on the red panel and destroy it.Then the red panels will turn blue. Now you only have the blue and green panels.<Step 6>Place the green Geo Symbol on a blue paneland destroy it.Now all the panels are green. Now one more step.<Step 7>Lastly, place the Nullify Geo Symbol on agreen panel and destroy it.Now all the Geo Panels are gone, and you can receive the All Nullified Bonus....Hmmm. You explain it like you thoughtof it all by yourself.I bet you're hiding a cheat sheet somewhere.Huh.
| I'll let you know if I manage to get this hack to work on 5.00M33-6 So far I've managed to get it working backwards, but that still doesn't make it readable.
If I wanted I could change the story (like the famous Chrono Trigger Spoof). But that comes after getting this to work.

You end up running 5.55 from flash and running 5.00M33 from your memory stick. | How did you get it to work?.the instructions make no sense lol |

disgaea 2 won't work
I, too, seem to be having problems with this. I'm running 5.00 m33-6 at the moment. The updater tells me that if I'm using the 5.00 m33 option I'll have a brick. If I continue running it I'll have to use my Pandora battery, right? Or will I actually get a working update? Is there another option I can go with?
I actually bought Disgaea 2 and it's going to be tragic if I can't play it. I really appreciate any help. |

the DDCv8 mod will install 5.55 through the install ofw option, and you can still use the test m33 option which will let you run cfw off the memory stick |

Okay, I did something wrong and now I'm just at 5.55 OFW. It sucks cuz I can't play my homebrew and backed up games, but at least I can play Disgaea 2 now.
What am I going to have to do? Downgrade to something like 1.5 and start the whole process over again? |
