quick questions about the custom FW

i currently have 3.03 and i bought it from BB a week or so ago


i got it at 2.71 and made the mistake to update


what exactle does the OE-B or whatever have that the psp fw doesnt have???


i know it can play h/b and iso's, but does it have any additional features on it??

and does it have all of the features that the original has??


sorry for all the questions, im back in the psp community after about 4 months of a broken psp and i missed alot

well with a custom firmware(in this case 3.03) you can have all the homebrew capabilities of 1.5, coupled with all the extras of 3.03. In OE.-B you can also run ISO's natively(straight from the XMB, without the need for a loader.)

so, basically you'll be tricking the psp into "thinking" that it is a sony sw version 3.03 while it it actually running sony fw 1.5

so it has all the features of both firmwares and all the custon stuff with xflash and run iso's from ps1 and ps2 games?

right??


EDIT: Another Quick question.

my psp has the little numbers on the Motherboard so that means it cannot go below 2.5 right?? (from what i read here) so can i even run the custom firmware on it


i thought it needed 1.5

you downgraded a ta-082 below 2.5? You got balls. From what I read I thought this would be a sure fire way to brick it. However I have a non-ta082 so I only skim over info specifically related to ta-082.

well i had to downgrade my friends 2.71 ta-802, and i didnt know that you shouldnt downgrade below 2.5 until afterwards... i didn't know you can brick it though!? oh well... these balls are made of titanium alloy now my friend

no. There seems to be a bit of confusion here. Usign the GTA downgrader you can only downgrade ta082's to 2.5. Using the newer ta082 downgrader(the one I used), you can safely downgrade your psp to 1.5.

No, your psp won't think it's running 3.03, you will actually be running a custom firmware, with code by dark_Alex. In this code he has implanted some code from 1.5, so you have all the adantages of HOMWBREW
