Firmware Installed: Bricked

Default Custom Firmware FAQ Guide

I just tried to upgrade my Phat psp from the 3.52 M33-3 custom firmware straight to 4.01 M33 and when i hit the update icon under my memory stick it the program starts but now all i've got is a black screen with the words
"Unpacking... done."
"please wait..."

What did i do wrong? Have i bricked it? And if so, how can i unbrick it?

Firmware Installed: Psp slim v4.05ofw

Thumbs down Custom Firmware FAQ Guide

I've been reserching how to get cfw m33 onto my psp slim 4.05ofw, but there are so many things out there and so many saposid ways to do it that I am whole heartly confused about what to do. I dont know anyone that has a modded psp or even knows what to do to mod one. I'm not sure what chip set(board) my psp has, i was planing on hardmoding a pandora battery for it and i still dont know what version of m33 i want to have on it. Any help with pointing me in the right direction would be much apreciated. I dont know if i can say what state i'm in either but its in north-east usa. Please either reply back or send me a pm.
Thanx in advance hopefully

Edit: its a psp - 2001 (more whn i find out)

Default Custom Firmware FAQ Guide

Okay, I hate to be such a noob right now, but I don't know where to start. I currently ordered a Pandora Battery, should be here within a couple days. I was hoping that someone could help me through getting CFW on my PSP, at least shed some light on me until the battery arrives(knowing now, that it is an essential part). But, I was doing some searching and saw that FFVII and FFIX both run smoothly using CFW "5.00 M-33 6". This guide is about using "3.02 OE-C". Is there any way to put 5.00 M-33 6 on the PSP instead on the 3.02 OE-C? If so how would I go about doing this. Will I just need to have the 5.00 M-33 6.rar (and yes extract it) then follow the readme or do I need like a "base" file that will allow the 5.00 M-33 6 to run. Or am I just making this more confusing that it is? I need help>< uggh. please.

Thanks.

Default Custom Firmware FAQ Guide

Hey, im a major n00b, so can u plz give me a detailed explanation on how to upgrade my psp fat to the newest m33? I am currently running 3.71 m33 and whenever i go to network update (my friend told me that will dl CFW) it downloads what i believe is OFW 5.51??
can i run it just to check, or will that be potentially dangerous for my CFW?

A: You cant switch discs then. There is a method where you connect the memory card into the PC somehow, and then put the save file for disc 2. The best option i can think of would be to search google for a game-save for that game on disc 2 for the popstation PSX emulator.
You can make a multi-disc boot in which you can swap discs during the game... you can use PSX2PSP to make them...

So idk if you wanna fix that and put in an option because games can swap discs during game-play... check it out on the latest PSX2PSP on options... you load up all the images and then it gives an option on the home menu to swap discs.(I believe this only works on later versions like 3.80).

So if you could put that and an FAQ to make multi-disc eboots that would help a bunch.

There are several un-bricking guides, and I believe that's why the recovery menu has the option to toggle USB because once it is bricked you cannot access USB mode. But with recovery menu, you can easily put all the required files in by using toggle USB haven't tried it yet but I know it works.

go to your recovery menu and go to "configuration" and then scroll down to "network update" and set it to use m33 for updates, then do it...
or just google 5.00m33-6 update, get the update, install it in your game folder and open that and download the 5.00 eboot from online with your psp...done

but if you installed the ofw 5.51, you need to use a pandora battery and magic stick

i'm amazed that you're on 5.03 m33-6...never knew that existed, as far as i knew, m33 stopped at 5.00m33-6...????

try the guides section and try the one that tells how to soft mod your battery into a pandora if you don't have one...plenty of guides that tell many different ways of about going about installing cfw's good luck
