Default 3.03 oe-c region free player question

Hi I'm fairly new to the PSP mod scene, but I've done my research, downgraded to 1.5 and have installed Dark Alex's firmware V. 3.03 OE-C and have been enjoying it for the last month or so! Thanks Alex! I've been able to figure out most things by myself or I've been able to find advice posted, but I cannot find any details regarding the Region Free options on this. I'm in the US, but I've purposely ordered a European UMD movie (Serenity - I like the European jacket better!).

Anyways I've rebooted in the Recovery Mode and turned on the Free UMD Region , tried the fake region settings (European, Russia, Japan, etc.) And I've tried every varation with both the Region Free on and off with the different region and every time it reboots I still get a message that says, "This disc cannot be started. The region code is not correct."

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Default 3.03 oe-c region free player question

Ok, that really blows! Is there any list of movies tested or whatnot? Is there something I can look for on the packaging or box to know? I don't get how a region changer only works on some. Well no point in blowing more money for foreign UMD's. I can't complain too badly considering I've gained a lot more for the loss of purchasing one foreign movie. I guess I'm just going to have to buy the DVD's and and copy them onto the memory sticks. So much for supporting UMD's!

I read not 2 days ago about some who had the exact same problem, and if I remember correctly, someone said that the movie region protection was still in effect. The games, however, should be rendered region free.
