To install CFW on a newly store bought PSP, you need to have Pandora's Battery along with the Magical Memory Stick.
If you wish to inquire about said items, there is a useful "search" function on these forums.

try formatting your memory card but if game150 is not made then manually make it, type it as GAME150

Hi guys,
Sorry to bother everyone but I was wondering whether you could help me out:
* Copy the folders 'kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher%' to the directory; 'X:/PSP/GAME/' on your PSP's memory stick.
* Copy the folder 'M33CREATOR' to the directory; 'X:/PSP/GAME/' on your PSP's memory stick.
* Run the kxploitpatcher program.
* Download the official 3.52 update: PSP Downloads | PSP 3.52 Firmware Update and rename to 352.PBP.
* Copy the 352.PBP to the directory; 'X:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/' on your PSP's memory stick.
* Download the official 1.50 update: RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting and rename to 150.PBP.
* Copy the 150.PBP to the directory; 'X:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/' on your PSP's memory stick.
* Execute '3.52 M33 CREATOR' under GAME on your PSP.
* Then execute '3.52 M33UPDATE' under GAME on your PSP. <------
* Once finished, press X.
* Have fun on 3.52 Custom Firmware!
I am at the step highlighted by the arrow above. However, I get the following error message: "Checking psar integrity...Incorrect psar' when the '3.52 M33UPDATE' is running.
Any ideas? Help much appreciated. Thanks. |

Referring to my previous post, problem solved! I was using a 2GB memory card previously, and I tried using my brother's 4GB one and it worked! |

step by step-1.50 to 3.90m33 guide
I'm having a strange problem. I have successfully been running 3.52 m33 and just got patapon. I read it needs 3.90 so, I have been trying to install it. I updated to 3.52 m33-4 and attempted running the 3.90 m33 update and it just freezes on Please wait.... So, I tried doing the 3.80m33 and the 3.71m33 and they both say I need 3.52 m33-3 or higher. I check system settings and it says I have 352 m33-4! I've reinstalled 4 a few times and can't get it to work. Suggestions? |

@tpspman: Actually, I've played all those games on 3.90 M33 and M33-2 without a problem. It's not a problem with the FW in any way unless I was lucky enough to be the exception to the glitches.
What is the FW version you have installed? I see you're a first-time poster too so you may be a noob for all I know. are you on FW 3.XX or 3.XX M33? (where the X's can be any number) |

In the guide it says to hold R when starting to get into setup, that don't work either. Tried formating two different cards and still no go. Only reason i'm trying to upgrade is that i can't get my emulators to run, 3.52M33-4 doesn't need the 1.5 kernal right, you set it up in setup, which I can't get to. frustrating to say the least. suggestions? |

It feezes after unpacking and "Please wait..." I formatted the card and just put on the 3.90m33 release + 390.pbp. Other ideas? Also, still when trying 3.71 or 3.8 it tells me i need m33 3.52-3 or higher.
