step by step-1.50 to 3.90m33 guide
I'm a bit confused by a particular section of the guide...
I've gotten up to 3.71 now, and I'm ready to do the updates, but I'm wondering if I need to do the step BEFORE the 3.71 updates-list that says:
"installing the 1.50 kernel patch (150 kernel addon 2)"
Didn't I just start from 1.50 in the beginning? Sorry for the dumb question, but the sentence right before this section also indicates something along the lines of "you only need to do the updates..."
but is that a part of 'the updates?' do I do the 1.50 step or skip that and do just 1-4 of the actual updates? Just trying to be careful. Thanks for the great guide.
- cleverest not feeling so clever right now. |

step by step-1.50 to 3.90m33 guide
Never mind, I figure it out...but for the sake of others less daring/capable:
The 1.50 during that step (3.72m33 and basically anytime it's mentioned after the very first time) is optional, and it doesn't actually change the firmware to 1.50, but adds support for it during boot-up (by holding R) in case you want to play emulated games that require a 1.50 PSP, which I most certainly do!
There is a lot of missing words, variations in the same sections in formatting, wierd coloring/underlining in one space that's missing in similar sections a bit down from others, uneven spacing and just general bad organization to this otherwise awesome guide. I'm not just criticizing or nitpicking this, but I'm offering to help clean it up and make it rock solid in that regard.... Psp4lyf, would you like to me edit/clean up (and possibly update to what is it now....4.01m33?) for you? Let me know!
Also, is it safe to go straight TO the 4.01m33 update from 3.71m33-4 by copying the update into PSP/GAME/UPDATE or do I need to step sequence update it to that point?
Thanks again, for the guide, I just would like to make it (organizationally) perfect!! |

Thanks,
But I've never had to use a Pandora Battery/Magic method because my PSP was 1.5 factory and I only started these updates in the last day or so....but thanks for the link, I'm sure it will come in handy for those stuck with a higher official firmware.
(of course I could be missing your point...) |

PSP4lyf,
As per my previous offer...would you like me to tweak the organization of your guide and make it super "purdy" and consistent across the various sections of explanation? You did a great job, but I'm just offering to help out...I'll also get it up to 4.01m33 (latest release) (and try to keep it updated as more FW releases of m33 become available) I'd like to contribute to the scene that has helped me (and you) and I think this would help a lot of people...it would certainly make the process smoother for those more "challenged", lol, I even had some issues with the layout which I think could be easily improved....let me know bro. |

step by step-1.50 to 3.90m33 guide
Hi Guys
great guide so far ,even i have followed it and my psp has been in a bag for 2 years
Ok my problem, i followed the guide and installed 3.52 m33-4 nps at all but when i went to the next step ,when i run 3.71 m33 it says 3.52 or greater required for this update and it just goes back to the loading screen.
3.52 did work as im playing a game on it now.
Any ideas ? thanks
fiannon
its not something stupis like i have cso files in the iso folder now or anything is it .do i need to format or just carrry on ,ive tried several times and dled 3.71 from a few sights and they are the same file for sure as it asks to overwrite |
