Noob friendly help pls 3.52 to custom

I have a psp-1003 model (fat) that aparently is running System software version 3.52

I want to install custom firmware, and i dont know where to start (at all)

Welcome to the site.For you to get custom firmware you need something called Pandora's Battery.It's a modded battery and a MemStick with som especial files on it.I'd suggest reading some guides on it.

looks nice and simple. but i havent got access to a psp thats already running custom fw, and itll be a few days before i can do anything :P

i think there's a guide for creating pandora and mms even if you're not on custom firmware.

To create it without a PSP you will need a card reader.

yeah i have a memory stick pro/duo card reader, infact thats all i ever use...
dont have a usb cable to connect my psp to pc

You need a CFW PSP to use that guide.

Yeah i know someone whos had his psp done by a mate - but didnt know the process himself - so ill borrow his.

Right, bit of a hold up, my mate didnt show when i wanted and now he has, he has a SLIM psp with cfw, but mine is a fat, can i still softmod my battery in his slim?
