Default Fat vs Slim

ok.. it is impossible to find any sensible post on this forum that might help my curiosity: fat vs slim.. which is better for homebrew? what are the difference in the two regarding homebrew?

my friend wants to get a psp.. but he is not sure which one to get. and i am not sure of the differences, only that the slim cant run 1.50 homebrew apps because it cant use the 1.50 kernel.. is that all that is different?

Default Fat vs Slim

the weight is completely differant with the slim (light), also when u put it in ur hands it feels much for fat... also i think (correct me if im wrong?) that the screen is slightley darker... also skype is only availibe for the slim (i never use it though) ... i loved my phat though becuse it fits in my hands better, but the slim is better for carrying around cuase its lighter, EDIT: i 4got 2 mention, tht there are alot of psp accesories out there for phat only, but many more slim apps are going 2 b coming...

PSP fat can run anything so far except for skype and usb charge plugin. As for homebrew, most of it will work under 3.xx M33.

You can run 1.50 homebrew (most of it) on a slim if you install timemachine. You will not be able to use anything written for the infrared since the slim does not have it. For example, you can not use the PDA keyboard pluggin or use your slim as a remote control.

Other than that, the slim loads things faster and handles homebrew a little better due to the extra ram it has. It also loads UMD faster and has less issues on the web browser (which on a fat gets a lot of "out of memory" issues).

You can charge the slim when plugged in to USB. You get better options if you use the CFW pluggin. I have both so I do not run time machine. I leave all my 1.50 and infrared stuff on the fat. I use my slim for everything else and skype.

You can skype me at sinphaltimus.exmortus if you want to chat about it live.
