How do you make an update.pbp
Hi. Me and my friend have developed a cfw. were calling it 3.80 FF edition. It has been completely finished, except that we cant figure out how to pack the prxes and rcos into a eboot so when you run it you will update your firmware so its running 380 FF. we want it to work like DAX's m33 update pbps. help.

How do you make an update.pbp
Isnt this just a theme youve made?
You and youre friend havent made a firmware, you have only made a theme.
Rco's and Prx's are theme files (Rco's contain the images for themes, and prx's contain the location of icons etc...) so its just a theme
And a theme is just flashed to the flash0 in your psp.
A theme cannot be packed into a PBP to be installed as an "update" anyway.

Back-up your flash0 folder, so you don't have to download copyrighted SONY files when you mess up...

But im sure when he "installs" this firmware when he goes to his system information it will still say an M33 Verison or OE version (not 3.80 FF)
Therefore it is a theme.
I know that flash0, 1 etc.. are the firmware files, but theres more to it to create a custom firmware.
Im no expert myself but i can make psp themes and i know the files needed to be edited to make one.

Im no expert myself but i can make psp themes and i know the files needed to be edited to make one. | Im not stupid. its an actual firmware. yeah, the rcos are part of the psp base firmware, along with the prxes. and it wont say either m33 or oe or of or whatever. the whole point of this was so people who want to play ff7 on their psps, but cant because of the retarded POPS in 380/390, weve edited the POPS so when you go int a battle it wont crash. and id like to release it but i dont want to release it as just the flash0. i want to make it so its an actual "psp update Ver." pbp. if it was a theme all i would have to do is go to theme settings and set a custom one, cause most themes wont work on 3.71 and up.
anyway......help will be appreciated

Ok, then.
cygwin has something called CSP development studio, which lets you compile files into eboot's. Or just download CSP alone here: Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!
How to create an update eboot i dont know.
Youd need extra code to remove the older files etc i guess...
You could contact DAX, and ask him for an uncompiled version of 3.80M33 and swap the your files with the ones in his uncompiled M33. So your files are going to be in the .pbp.
Or if you dont know how to do this, you could always give DAX your files and ask him to do it himself, if you can contact him that is. And if he is willing to do it. It would create a joint M33|FF Firmware
Your best bet is contact DAX, or someone else like Fanjita or try Qj.net for any developers who'd be willing to do it.
Edit: What about Jomart on the psp halo thread? You could ask him, his psp halo is in eboot form.

So, you know French, but you live in Scotland? Wait, you also know English, Scottish is the same as English, but a different accent, right? Ok, so you know French, English, Scottish, and maybe some high school Spanish? Cool. +1 For you.

And yeah, i have an accent. A really funny one...
Pero no se espanol...
Edit:SSBB_PWNED_UR_MOMMA: Once you have your .psar, .psp files etc you can use pbp unpacker to repack them, which is a lot easier.

it was based off of a flash dump of 380 m33-1, and were just editing the files required for FF 7 to run, and recovery.
And i would include screenshots, but the only things that would really be informative would be the system information and recovery. when ive got it running ill make a video.
Oh and Andromada, im sorry for being rude earlier. i jus got ahead of myself, being frustrated with the creation and all.
and your download doesnt exist. i clicked on it and it said something like "the file doesnt exist. please contact the person who posted it."
and DAX never answers his emails. we asked him about two weeks ago before dev. started on how to make an update and he still hasnt replied.......well i guess thats what happens when your THE most famous psp dev
EDIT: well.......i found this csp development studio but when i clicked on the rar file it said the file was corrupted. i was so mad it took like 30 minutes to download, cause youtube wasnt uploadin my videos
EDIT EDIT: i went to their website and redownloaded it and it installed just fine. but i need a tutorial on how how to use it. Do you know of a good one? anybody?
