Default Unbricking OE4.01 to CFW

I am currently on OE firmware 4.01 and am trying to install CFW...I have access to a pandora battery and have downloaded the Catb50 magic memory stick creator 2.0 full that has 3.80 m33 firmware on it for unbricking a psp..I am using a psp phat batt for pandora and a 1GB sandisk memory stick and have walked through the setup process using Catb50 begin.bat file..It says stick created successfully..No problem there..I left stick in as instructed in guide and put in pandora battery and get the green light as I should without touching the power button, so I know my battery is good to go and it has also been used to create other cfw PSPs...Now my problem being after the battery is installed , I get nothing..No screen display and I know my battery is charged good...Now most forums say that I should see all my lights on psp flash to know it is working, I get nothing but green light..I tried booting up with L button held as pandora batt installed and I get nothing as well...I am at a lose at the moment..I know the batt works due to other PSPs being created cfw with... So my question to whom may know is.. Do I need to start at a lower cfw than 3.80 m33 and if that cfw is good to create with then how can I check my mem card to verify that the install was indeed good? I need any wisdom anyone may have..Thank you for your time and help

Put the MMS in first without the batt.,then put the batt.in & it should work.Holding the left trigger is for slims. If it doesn't work,it's probably Your MMS
Try this tut. instead

Talking Unbricking OE4.01 to CFW

Thanks for answering that question...I figured that the L button was mainly used for slims, I think that the catb50 I downloaded from this site was bad due to having a broken file, the 340.pbp, the 3.40 eboot..Don't know if it means anything, but it may be causing my install to be bad and I get nothing out of the pandora cfw method..If that is my problem, the catb50 creator file, then where can I get a good copy or is it possible to replace the 340.pbp with a good copy of it and try the install agian? curious on that..Been running the idea through my head and if anyone wants to check it out , download the catb50 2.0 full from pspmod and run a check on it with winrar to see if that file is broken for everyone or is it just my download..I downloaded from 3 other sites and got the same thing..I would really like to know if its just me or is this maybe a issue with everyone and if so maybe we together can get it fixed to help all on this site..Thank everyone for all the help and support..It's great to have friends and helpful advice...take care all!

If you are STILL getting just a green light then your battery is STILL in pandora mode.

Follow this tut. to make your MMS.Files are in this link.
http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-har...ery-guide.html (Easy-To-Use Pandora's Battery Guide)

To do it yourself, you will need DCv3 (there is DCv4, but i havent tested it out yet)

just download this big old file called The Filez You Need.7z (download)

* after you have the downloaded files we will make a magic memory stick! ( the easiest part)
- extract the The File You Need.7z to your desktop (use WinRAR)
- Open README 1st folder
- highlight and copy MSINST and MSPFORMAT FOLDER
- open My Computer
- Left Click the C: drive once (Note: if you double click, it will open C: drive)
- Now RIGHT Click on C: drive and PASTE
- format your memory stick thru your psp (Settings>System Settings>Format Memory Stick)
- once that is done, enable USB mode
- make note of your drive letter (usually E: or F)
- open up command propmt (click Start, select Run, type in cmd and hit enter_
- Type in the following command "CD C:\" (note: with-out quote mark) HIT enter
- type the following command "mspformat\mspformat.exe X" ( where X=psp drive letter) note: NO quotation
- hit Y, then enter
- it should say "Drive succesfully formatted, and partition moved."
- disable USB mode, and take out the memory stick
- now re-insert the memory stick, and re-enable(this guide was made by hercules on pspmod.com) USB mode
- Now go back to the Desktop where you extracted the folder "The File You Need"
- double click it
- open the Despertar v3 folder, and copy its contents to your psp (just the contents, not the actual folder)
- now go back to your prompt window
- type the following command "msinst\msinst.exe X msinst\msipl.bin" (again where X=psp drive letter) note: NO quotation
- press Y and hit enter
- The last line should say " Write MS BOOT CODE "
- then type exit and enter
* you now have a magic memory stick!

Use dc-5
