Please help! - PSP wont turn on after cfw 4.01
hey,
a while ago i seemingly bricked my slim psp. it was running custom firmware perfectly for months. then one day, when i went to turn it on the green power light came on and that was it. after about ten seconds the green light went away. i shelved it for a while because i haven't had any time to tinker with it until now.
today i scoured the forums here as well as other places and decided to try and hack it again using a combination of my pandoras battery and the newest psp grader with 4.01 fw.
i was able to install the cfw with relative ease after i repartitioned the lflash with nandtool. however, i still cannot get my psp to turn on with the regular battery or ac adapter. the screen will only boot into the firmware install screen with a pandoras battery. i'm starting to get extremely frustrated. the flash is going seemingly perfectly to no avail. any ideas? |

Well you could:
A)Get the 1.50 RECOVERY folder, place it in your GAME folder, and go to the recovery menu and use that method to go back to 1.50, then upgrade through all the steps to get to 4.01m33
B)Use a different magic memory stick maker, to go to a lower firmware, then just update
C)Do either A or B, I have to have a C

Please help! - PSP wont turn on after cfw 4.01
i still cannot get this to work. i feel like i have tried everything to get my psp to turn on. the guide above does the same thing as psp grader. my psp turns on when i put in the pandoras battery and i am able to flash the firmware successfully and everything, then i go to put my regular battery in to boot it up regularly and it doesn't respond. the green light will come on for like 15 seconds and then turn off. i just got done trying the upms to take my firmware down to 3.71, same results. my psp will only turn on when inserting the pandoras battery. does anyone have any other ideas? im ready to ship this thing to someone else to see what they can do. |

well, u could try using rains mms maker to make ur mms http://www.pspmod.com/forums/sony-ps...not-requi.html (Rain's Simple MMS Maker v1.0: mem stick prepper for Pandora, .NET Framework not requi)
the reason i say to use this is becuase if u keep the mms files on the memstick, u can use the pandora as a regualar.....wat the files do is make the battery force boot the psp into the regualar xmb instead of the cfw installation menu(u hold in L when u put in the battery to go to the menu)....wat im hoping will happen for u is that the battery and mms will force the psp to boot up to the regular xmb....its a longshot, but its also worth a try |

what tomaversa recommends does work.maybe your doing it wrong, there are seperate instructions i give for xp and vista in order to run that program.if you got something else like a linuix or a mac, your prolly screwed.try using the app to format the stick, see if that helps.remember to read everything carefully |

yeah, it makes sense that it should work...ive tried this several times, checking over the instructions carefully, now when i put my pandoras battery in the green light comes on briefly (like three seconds) then turns off. the backlight doesn't even come on like the first time i tried it. am i doomed? |
