Default Custom firmware installation help...

Okay, I've got a PSP Slim 2000 with 5.02 OFW on it, a pandora battery that I know works because my friend used it on his PSP, and an 8GB Sony Pro Duo Memory Stick. I've read that with Despertar del Cementerio v8, you can use an 8GB stick.

I'm having trouble actually installing the CFW on my PSP. Do I need to downgrade first? Which CFW should I be trying to install?

When I insert the battery, the green light comes on, but nothing else happens. I've tried holding L, R, Left, Triangle, and every other button on this thing, but nothing happens... I've used RainMMS, and I've tried making a mms manually, but neither approach has given me any results. I do not have access to a PSP with custom firmware..Well, at least not until Monday. Do I absolutely have to have one to make an MMS?

Default Custom firmware installation help...

How old is your slim? And what version of FW did it have when you got it? If it was 4.xx or higher, its entirely likely that it is NOT possible (yet?) to put CFW on it...

Is it PIANO BLACK? From what I've read those are usually the new ones with the motherboards that can't have CFW installed.

This thread might shed some more light:

(take out the spaces, I can't post url's yet )

Gaaah, I'm pretty sure it's the 88v3.....

I found another forum where someone typed up all the exact information found on my box....I'll see if I can trade it to some unsuspecting fool for an old psp.
