Default need help removing custom firmware

I have 3.40 OE-A and my psp wont update because of the dadadada error. I want to update to 5.50 to download stuff from my ps3 to my psp so I need to go back to the regular firmware

download the file and place it in the game folder and run it.
something like this ms0:/psp/game/update/eboot.pbp

when i try to do that it still says
The game could not be started.
(DADADADA)
when i try to do it in recovery mode it doesn't do anything
