hi, ok, there are numerous ways to hack a psp, (install custom firmware aka CFW, here's a video tutorial:

you will need a pandora battery by the way, if you don't know what a pandora battery is, in one sentence, is a special battery for the psp that allows the installation of custom firmware CFW, you can purchase the pandora battery in this site, or look for one on ebay etc, once you have installed your CFW, you'll be able to play your ISO backups and homebrews and a lot of other stuffs, such as msn.....and etc etc.

just get a pandora battery and follow the video instructions and you'll be fine, good luck

Or without paying out for a pandora.... You can use ChickHEN and Recovery Flasher 1.60. Take a look in the guides section, theres one that'll help you.

guys i already have this first 5.03 using this PSP Firmware 5.03 Download then get chickHEN R2 using this File Details-5.03-ChickHEN-Enabler-Revision-2-PSP - finally use this File Details-Recovery-Flasher-v1.60-PSP - to get 5.00m33-6..

guys i already have PSP Firmware 5.03 i downloaded 8, chickHEN R2 using this File Details-5.03-ChickHEN-Enabler-Revision-2-PSP and File Details-Recovery-Flasher-v1.60-PSP. frome here? i dont know how to install it.. im not that technical and im a newbie. a help will be greatly appreciated.. tnx guys..

OK! Here we go.

1. Update to 5.03 OFW. Done

2. Install ChickHEN, refer to the ChickHEN R2 readme that is bundled (I haven't used it so idk)

3. Extract the Recovery Flasher 1.60 .rar/.zip

4. Place the "RECOVERY" folder, in the X:/PSP/GAME folder of your mem stick.
X being the root.

5. Run ChickHEN by going to 'Photo' in the XMB, then 'ChickHEN', the the bottom picture. (If that fails, search the forums, theres a few theads on ChickHEN)

6. Once the device reboots, go to 'Game' then Recovery Flasher.

7. Once in the program, select install 5.00M33-6, wait for it to finish, then your done, you can delete ChickHEN, but keep Recovery Flasher just in case you semi brick your console.


If i'm wrong in some places, someone else will more than likely fix that up
