Yes, that is a problem. You can't flash any true custom firmware to a PSP-3000 or it will permanently brick.
The only "custom firmware" you can run is 5.03GEN-a/ChickHEN.

I don't have any issues with M33-6 so I can't really see a reason to switch to D2. About the only annoyance is having to patch stubborn games like Idolmaster with OFW on the disc. Does D2 fix this? I'd like to see a M33-6/D2 pros and cons list actually... | |

I have not found a single 5,50 + game that D2 can't run. eather riped or off the UMD. the games just work

^^agreed...they auto decrypt and bypass their software updates while using D2, i had no problems decrypting them but now i don't have to lol | |

D2 has been pretty flawless for me. So flawless, in fact, that I have installed it on 3 other PSPs, all phats, and I have no complaints.
And all of my new UMDs work without decrypting, like Goku and UserX have stated. Only issue that I have has to do with Music I have downloaded from PSN for my Rockband unplugged. I can't get it to see it, using the UMD or the ISO. Oh well, it was just the free song.
