Old New mem card, some games not detected 10-28-2009, 09:24 PM   #1 (permalink)

Default New mem card, some games not detected

Hey,
I just received my new memory stick pro duo 16GB from China (supposed to be a Sony but not sure...lol)
I'm using 5.50Gen D2 and some of my isos are just...not detected (Tales of VS and Yggdra Union). I have no problems on my genuine Sony 4GB.
All my other isos are working well except those 2. Could it really be the memory card? Or is it a mysterious error that no one knows?

Thanks

EDIT: Does not support Magic Gate, definitively a fake =/

saw your edit...let me ask you this, are those 2 files that aren't showing up in iso or cso format?? my 1 4g card is a fake also and won't recognize cso files at all but sees all the iso's just fine...so check that, if they're cso, use ciso utility to uncompress them back to iso format and try again...

if they are iso format and not showing up, try to rename the files to something shorter than what the current name's are...like Tales of VS, change to TOVS, that works sometimes too...report back

Yeah it is, I said it in my edit.

One is in iso and the other in cso but same with the games that work.
Thanks though. I'll just use this card for multimedia files. ($25 for 16GB so that was worth the chance lol)

The real size is probably only 2GB or something.

It happens frequently that data is there like a ghost on the card. So that could be because it's a fake size and not just because the card is bad/low quality?

Yes. If you want to find out how big it really is, get together 0.99GB of contents, put it on the card. See if you can see it on the PSP. Keep adding 0.99GB until you can't see it on the drive. Then see how many 0.99GB files you have on the card that shows on the PSP, thats how big the card is.

Like this I'd say it's about 5.5GB.
