Playing 6.00+ games?

I'm on 5.00 M33-6 and want to know if it's possible to play 6.00+ OFW games (ISO) by changing the version file, or do I need to upgrade CFW entirely? (To what?) Thanks

either patch them for 5.00m33-6 or just update to 5.50gen-D2 and never worry about patching them anymore...
