The last time I messed around with my PSP I upgraded to the latest firmware which at the time was 3.03 OE-C. This is on a PSP Fat.


What i would like to know is what would I benefit from upgrading to the latest firmware out for the PSP fat? Also how will I do the upgrade. Hopefully there is a easy all in one solution by now. I have no idea.

I'm pretty sure you guts put the eboot in the game folder.

well im getting new memory sticks so do i just copy everything over from the existing memory stick?

yes, usually thats the thing to do, unless you use the old one for minor things

1. Download OFW 5.00
2. Rename it into 500.pbp
3. Download 5.00 M33-6
4. Put both files into ms0:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE
5. So, all you need to have in UPDATE folder is these two files: 500.pbp and eboot.pbp
6. Run it from game

are those files the latest which allow me to play the latest games? the 4 games i have curently have are in cso format has that changed?
seems like there is a dispute over how its done right. but is this the way i should go about upgrading in general? and what does it mean by run it from game?

if you update to 5.00 m33-6, you have to decrypt the games eboot.bin to play it

do i need 5.00 m33-6 to do so?

well i put the eboot.pbp file into the psp/game folder. i didn't put it into game150 or game303. and whats supposed to happen? im still on 3.03 OE-C.

i need a hand here

You can't go direct from 3.03 OE-A to 5.00 M33. You'll need to go to 3.40 OE-A, then 3.52 M33-3, the hellcats (in my sig) to go to 5.00 M33.
