The Dark_Alex Custom Firmware Q&A Thread
Hey guys, I'm running 3.90M33-2 and it SUCKS, it doesn't let me do most of the things it's supposed to. How do I downgrade to 3.80M33-5? Sice the consensus seems to be that it's better than 3.90...
I don't want to brick MY PSP by assuming how to downgrade so, if anyone knows how to do it, i'd appreciate the help. |

Can you update directly from 3.71 M33 to 3.90 M33 or do you have to update all that crap in between?

@NeoTsunami: I'm kinda curious as to why you think it sux. What types of things can you do with 3.80 M33-5 that you can't with 3.90 M33-2? I haven't had any problems with it (other than CW Cheat no longer working on it)
Also, one way to downgrade is to use the M33 Recovery menu after putting a 1.50 update in PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/ and name it EBOOT.PBP Then it should be alright and you can update to 3.80 M33-5 with THIS GUIDE (step by step-1.50 to 3.90m33 guide).
Another way is to use pandora's battery to downgrade. It's much faster than the above method and it is guaranteed to work. Plus you can downgrade straight to 3.80 M33 with DAX's newest Despertar Del Cementario at HIS HOMEPAGE

Anyone know what the WMA and Flash things are for in the M33 Recovery menu. it's under the Registry Hacks section and I can't seem to use WMA or Flash on my PSP. what good is it? am I doing something wrong? if so, how am I supposed to use it? |

.WMA file is Windows media music file.Which is smaller file than .mp3 so it saves space on your MS.I believe flash player is for internet tv but costs more money than its worth |

But nm, with update 3 it's pretty much fixed. |

@NeoTsunami: ... oooookay... I never had that problem with mine and I *just* updated to version 3, like, yesterday. I put on about three or four games on average for the memory stick. the corrupt video data thing could've been fixed by changing what folder the video was in. if it was in "VIDEO" and had an M4V prefix, put it in the 100MNV01 subfolder inside of the MP_ROOT folder. I expect this type of error will persist in later versions of the M33 CFW's. @davewill: Thanks for the insight but I already knew that much. I was talking about why I can't watch youtube or something on PSP (since it uses flash) or how I could play WMV files on my PSP since I obviously have the registry hacks for it. |

Hello,
Do you guys know if I'm able to connect my psp to my ps3 with firmware 3.90m33-3? Without wrecking anything that is:P Or do I have to have the original firmware on it?

Umm.... I know nothing about custom firmware. Someone tell me what it is, what this one specifically does, and how I install it when I have no oher custom firmware and have never had any on my PSP? It is a slim, running 3.95, if you need to know. Please help, cause it sounds cool.
