But on the PSX disc to Eboot file, it says that you NEED 3.02 OE-B firmware to run playstation game on your psp. Is 3.03 OE-C an update and can also run PSX games? |

The Dark_Alex Custom Firmware Q&A Thread
Hey i'm new here and stuck
Basically i upgraded my firmware to 3.10 OE-A but for some reason can't play any emulators. They show up on the psp but when i choose them it come up with an error.
I heard i should have folders: like GAME150, however when i upgraded i didn't get these folders. Do i need to create them?
Also, now that i have 3.10 OE-A can i not use the normal emulators i was using when i had 1.5?
Thanks |

yes you can, and you create a folder by right clicking, then select "MAKE NEW FOLDER" and rename is GAME150 in your PSP folder.. |

The Dark_Alex Custom Firmware Q&A Thread
Hiya, I gave this a go and did not have any success - i think the reason for this is that when i copy the easy installer files to the GAME150 directory the psp does not detect it as something i can run. More details here (Need help =() - obviously something I am doing wrong but any info would be much appreciated |

I have found This Thread excellent but i am getting tripped up on one point. I have successfully upgraded from firmware 2.0 to firmware 2.71 (jap) and i have downloaded the easy installer (340oeaEasyFlasher.rar).
I formatted the memory stick using the psp and copied the contents on the rar to the GAME150 directory (which i had to create as it did not exist). When i went into game>memory stick it stated there where no games. So i copied it to the GAME directory. When i do that it has the "3.40 oe firmware update". but when i run it, the psp restarts with the sony entertainment splash screen and turns itself off after about 5 seconds. If i restart the psp it appears nothing has happened as the firmware version is still 2.71.
I have done a lot of searching and i can only assume it is not working because it is not in the GAME150 directory. But it cannot see anything in there.
I have tried this running both on ac power and off it and my battery is at 100%. I have also tried running in "recovery mode" by holding down the R key when powering up the psp, but i dont think it is going into recovery mode as everything seems normal - no extra options or anything.
Im sure you guys have had this question before, so im sorry to ask this again but im afraid my searching skills are not up to par. I have spent a good hour or so searching before i posted this. | EDIT: question 2: is it possible to upgrade to 3.40 oe from 2.71 or do i need to downgrade to 1.50 first?
EDIT2: Got a little impatient (its the evening for me when its 4am for you guys) so i downgraded to 1.5 and then up to 3.40oe - worked like a charm! |

yeah well at 4 am, pspmod is not on my mind, its either my comfortable bed and why i cant sleep
or a dream/nightmare
but yeah if yo read 4 hours a day lik you say, read the stickys first, you need 1.5 to upgrade to custom firmware... but anyway, good job, have fun please read my blue link to any CF questions youll have... theyve probably been answered here |
