Is Vista really THAT bad?

I keep hearing complaints everywhere that Vista sucks. I have it myself and I think it isnt that bad. Think about it. In a couple of years, everything will run on vista and it will be the XP of today. People hate it so much they make commercials about how much it sucks (mac commercials with the 2 guys taling...).

So I want to hear from you guys. Tell me if you think Vista sucks, or if people are just being stupid and ignorant.

i grew up using microsoft. when vista came out i was so happy, but when i sued it i wasnt a fan of it. its nice, but as a PC gamer it isnt the best choice for someone like me to use. XP does everything i want it to do

Well I can't really hack any of the games on vista, either cause of the OS or because of the dual core processors these days. I might get it though and actually play legit for SOME games. It's not as bad as it seems, but for some strange reason I prefer using Internet explorer 7 on it rather than firefox on my friend's laptop, I don't know why. It's pretty nice, I found no lag on his wireless connection while playing WoW, but the Internet explorer thing still has me wondering.

I wouldnt normally say this because of all the flame risks but (especially from CB); Get a Mac. *runs and hides*

Actually i think vista is OK, to a certain extent. I like its interface and it can run pretty fast on certan computers (one i have tried it on had 2GB Ram, and a 2.8Ghz CPU) and it ran smoothly.

But ive seen others experiences with it, thats why i went back to XP, with a dual boot of hackintosh.

What is wrong with good old windows 98.. Vista may be good in a few years time but atm it has more harmful qualities then anything else... a lot of games dont run on it and it freezes more often then any other OS i have used...

I'm not trying to burn any1 pspdude, but why would u ask a question if u dont want an answer from the people that have used it???

Well anyway, the only reason I wouldnt get a Mac is because I really havent seen any tuts for the Mac in PSP hacking.

Guys, get over the arguing ok. Cheema can post in any thread he wants, but all of you are arguing about stupid things. Get over it!

And pspdude, the new Intel Macs come with bootcamp which allows them to run Windows XP or Vista, so you have the best of both worlds.

And I didnt know about that. So I geuss mac is the best after all. But their problem is that they are soooo expensive.

i run alot of programs on vista they works fine its cuz vista got a bad rep when a dumbass (excuse my language) said u could make a mms on vista will i did then other people started to copy him thats all that happened !!!!=[ so get over ur self man btw any1 can post in the forom aleast thats what i think so dont give vista a bad name and mac is to expensive !!!!!!!!!

Vista is just like XP.

When XP came out, EVERYONE HATED IT, they stuck to 2K, or 98 and REFUSED TO use it. When SP1 came out, it got a little better, and the transition (from 98, since lack of support) happened, then finally from 2K. Now everyone loves XP and despises Vista.

There's nothing wrong with vista, besides it being an extreme RAM whore, but turn off the Aero theme, turn off the sidebar, and you'll save A LOT of ram. That's basically why everyone hates Vista.

People say "Nothing runs on it", nothing is right, programs that are NOTHING, people who are too lazy to update it which are small, rare programs. I haven't had one program not work from my transition from Media Center to Vista. Even all my Warez cracks, keygens still run.

Overall, if you have a PC that comes standard with Vista, you'll be fine running it. If you are upgrading, use the upgrade wizard, to see if you'll be fine, THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE IT.

For me? I run vista amazingly fine, better then XP tbh. I can easily multi-task COD4, photoshop cs3, pidgen (im client), zune software, firefox, and no lag at all. I also have a quad-core pc, but if Vista was that horrible, I wouldn't be able to do that.

It's a great OS, and I all have to say if Vista is really all that terrible, then why did it take longer to hack Vista then Mac Os x?

actually, the reason noone likes vista is it isnt anything really improved over XP.

when XP came out I was an early adopter because I was fed up with anything built on the DOS platform and windows 2000 didnt have the media support I needed.

I honestly dont think vista will even be fully adopted and it's problems led microsuck pushing forward the release of the next version of windows

Your 100% right when you say it is just like XP when it came out. Like I said in my first post, in a year or 2 or 3 Vista shall become the XP of today and XP will be a peice of crap.

I remember going into a Mac store in the mall the other day, when I saw some of their computer prices. I cant remember exactly....but they were about 2000 dallors for half the RAM of vista. I was like "What the hell?" when I saw that.
