You know, my parents are athiests, but I just don't know what I am

Rob, Where did the apes come from, do you think anyone knows? You are asking quite a major question there. How do you know that God is real? Why is it when you see a report of a car crash on TV and the person lives, they say "God was with us, he saved us", and others in a car crash, they die. Why wasn't God with them? We created God, God didn't create us. Its all evolution. We evolve and evolve, thats how it is. We need something to beleive in, and people turn to God.

Thats just my philosophy, mock me, argue with me all you want, all what I will say is "How do you know you are right? Prove it to me and I will shut up. Until then, let me have my opinions"

I don't go to church regularly, and I'm not sure if i believe (Colbert said 'an atheist without balls'). Why should you believe in god? I just don't have any proof, and I've only been to church around 8 times.

Think of this for a second, how did you end up on earth? Your parents. How did they?. Their parents. And so on. I think we have a god and he created us, not apes. If we did, where did the apes come from?

Um, where did god come from? Your point is flawed at its core level. God created himself? He just was, and is?

Now I dont want to start a big fight here, so I just want to say were both allowed to have our own thoughts on this subject, these are mine and I respect yours.

I can understand where your comming from, how do I know god is real, I dont. No one does, but I like to think he does exist.

Car crashes, now thats a tricky topic, if he did have control over our whole lives Hurricane Katrina would not have happened nor would bush be president, but god does not have control over that. He does, however, have control over what he teaches me. God teaches us to live by his rules and follow him. When someone gets in a car crash and says that god saved them it was not god saving them but them safely avoiding death. But when someone dies in a car crash, its not gods fault.

I go to a Catholic High school and we are taught to believe in god. This is how I have been taught to live for 15 years, and will for another 80. And hope one day god will accept me into heaven.

This just about sums me up,

Why sounden't I belive in god? If this was the way I was taught, then this is the way I will live, and I am fine with that.

I can understand where people come out with questions that cannot be answered, thats all part of believing in god. If hard proof existed then eveyone would believe in god and we wouldent have debate.

I dont know where god came from, no one does. But I believe god exists and I know that god will take me in after death.

Who created god, again no one knows, but many still believe. It doesent matter what god is or just was, god is god.

If I live to be 95 and belive in god the whole time to find out he doesnot exist, well wont I feel dumb! But if I live all those years and live in heaven after death , ill be happy I did belive.

When I go to church I feel that, It's hard to explain, I just feel safe and watched upon knowing that god is there for me to help me make the right decissions in life.

I think people belive in god out of fear. Because if there is no god, and no afterlife, then when you die, thats it. You are no longer alive, you are nothing. You cant think, speak, or exist. Just nothing. Forever.

Thats scary, and people who dont want to believe that, belive in the stories about a "god" and a "heaven" to give them hope that they will remain to exist.
