    i know this is a stupid question but it is a good idea to buy new plates and buttons for my psp and put them on? or should i just stay away from that idea for a while...

    If you are comfortable voiding your warranty when you open the psp then go ahead. Otherwise I would suggest staying away from it. To me it is a pretty good looking unit as it stands.
