Tutorial: How to install Cintro Mod (coldboot video) on your Custom Firmware
Sry, i actually did it right but......................
My psp black out when i turned it on and weird becuase i couldnt turn it off either, it was like in between. Later i discovered that holding the R, the recoveery appeared and that was the only way i could exit that blackout.
What the hell? The only way i could play the cintro was from my memory stick and click on the APP.
I disabled the LOGO and enables the Eboot, but it just wont play and i was so scared my psp bricked but luckly i found out how to get out Couldnt use the Cintro. |

cool thread here.. mime, you're the best! and because of that i was urged to flash my 3.03 oe-c to 3.40 oe-a.. but theres a lil problem.. i cant seem to get the cintro work.. i followed your instruction mime.. make sure the intro.pmf is in the intro folder in the system etc.. and i went to the recovery mode to enable the Autorun program at /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP and disable the SKIP SCE Logo.. but nothing happens.. i restrarted it not holding R button to go to the recovery mode but it all showed a blank screen.. and will not go through the xmb.. what seems to be the prob!?
one more thing, when i flash a gameboot, it will not run.. only a white background with a psp logo will be view?!
what am i missing!? pls help mime or anybody.. tnx in advance.. |

Tutorial: How to install Cintro Mod (coldboot video) on your Custom Firmware
Hi mime and guys...
As you can see, im a newbie and this is my first post.
Well, i learnt about cintro at pspiso, and the instructions given by vuman were not very clear, so i googled to find out more.
I came across this forum and i see people here are especially friendly too (like mime =D )
mime's instructions were clearer, and with his tutorials i managed to do up my gameboot and cintro.
now, i see a lot of you guys here have an ex-problem of mine. the whole googling and testing out what is the exact problem took me 3 hrs! yes, i can't believe it myself -.-
-------------------------------------------------------------------
so without further a-do, the solution! Scenario: when booting up psp, black screen is shown and psp goes into a semi-hanged state and stay there for a long time. only way to access XMB is to use recovery mode to bootup and exit to XMB from there. Solution: for the cintro to work, u will need to put the BOOT folder into GAME (to work), and GAME150 (for demo).
people over at pspiso put it in GAME150 and was able to run and demo the cintro but could not get it to work.
people over here at pspmod put it in GAME150 and experienced a black screen hanged psp.
now, by putting the BOOT folder into GAME and GAME150 (i supposed we are all using the same kernel now), there will no doubt be 2 eboots that u can run in the game menu, but this solves the overall issue. the one in GAME will have an error where u cannot start the demo, but this is for the cintro to work normally. while the one in GAME150 is for demo-ing purposes.
the demo part is very useful especially if you are trying out your different downloaded cintros. but it is not a MUST unlike the one used to make it work.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
hope i helped some of the buddies here. thx alot mime. |

hope i helped some of the buddies here. thx alot mime. | IT HAS TO GO INTO GAME NO MATTER WHAT FW YOU HAVE OR WHAT KERNAL YOU SET. Because one of the settings you enabled in recovery was to boot and autorun a program in GAME
=======================================
* - Autorun program at /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP (Currently enabled) < This is how it should look.
=======================================
There is no other way for it to work

Tutorial: How to install Cintro Mod (coldboot video) on your Custom Firmware
yes u are correct Mwasim1... i failed to see that when i enabled it.
but i see a lot of bros having the same problem i had, and at that time i failed to put it in GAME, due to the fact the demo only runs in GAME150 folder, therefore i assumed GAME150 is the correct folder.
i initially started out on GAME folder and it worked, but the demo could not work, so i switched to GAME150 and had the error.
Just clearing some doubts. Currently i have it both in GAME and GAME150 to make it work plus do the quick demo. |

Well, i can tell you guys that i'm having the same exact problem. I just flashed up to the 3.40 OE-A fw...
did the step by step for cintro. I have the "BOOT" folder in the "GAME" folder...and still all i get is a black screen.
holding the "R" button takes me to the recovery menu. when it's in the black screen..it looks like it's trying to read the mem stick...b/c the light flashes non-stop.
Any fixes ?

did you put your intro.pmf inside the intro folder inside the system folder.
and Autorun program at /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP (Currently enabled) < This is how it should look.
SKIP SCE Logo. If you disable this; only the Cintro video will play.
=======================================
6. Now go ahead and EXIT Recovery Mode, then SHUT down your PSP completely and turn it back on and behold the "Cintro" The Cintro was made by me (Saint Seiya) ^^ as you can tell its longer than 2.5 seconds. Which is the lame limit gameboots have.

Some of you might be having trouble getting the Cintro to work and might end up with a Black screen ( btw frightens you because you think you BRICKED IT) and the only way to get out is holding the R button and go to Recovery... BUt i think i know why this is a problem: I have 2 Ideas:
1. YOU might have a costume XMB theme which runs a Cintro itself ( I have the Applecore costume XMB running on my PSP which has the "Hello, Tomorrow" Cintro) which prolly conflict with the Cintro your trying to put.
2. This might not be Compatible to M33-4 CFW...(maybe)
+++ SO yeah this is my ideas why some of you might be experiencing problems... PLease, correct me if Im wrong, because i would like a costume Cintro for myslef also while keeping my Costume XMB.
