Tutorial for making PSX Eboot images.

This is a tutorial to teach you how to make your very own PSX Eboot pictures.

    Programs I used:
    - Adobe Photoshop CS2 (pm me if you want to get it, a $900 program, for free)
    - IceTea 1.3

    Step One -Research.
Get pictures of the things you would like for your pictures.

    Step Two
    -Sizing

Open up Photoshop, and open your icon image. This is the icon you see when you scroll though the list of programs in the memory stick.

Use the crop tool to select the portion of the image you want.

Now you want to resize it.
Go to Image > Image Size.
This will open up a pop up window.

Now, the icon picture size needs to be 144x80, so you want to get it as close to that without distortion. To do so, keep “Constrain Proportions” checked, and type in the new dimensions.
This will make the size that you typed appear, and the other will change along with it to keep it from distorting.

If the one size is way off (ie: something like 144x103), to the point that, if it were 144x80 that it would distort, go back, and crop again, and make your selection larger. Then resize it. When you have a proportion that is very close to the required size, uncheck constrain proportions, and make it exactly 144x80.

Use the same steps to make your background image. The background needs to be 480x272.

    Step 3 -Saving

Go to File > Save As
At the “File Name” text box, type “ICON0” then
Click the down arrow for “Format” select “PNG (*.PNG)”
    Select “None” for interlaced.

Use the same steps for saving your background, but your background needs to called “PIC1”.

Step 4 -Inserting into the Eboot.

    Open up IceTea 1.3
    Click the “Expert” tab
Find the blue title “PIC1”. Click open, find your background, and select it.

Next find the blue title “ICON0” Click open, find your icon, and select it.

    Create your Eboot, Your done.

It's for CS2, but it can be applied to CS3. I could really, just go in, and change a link, and change all the 2's to 3's.
