    Hi folks,

First let me say that I'm a knob, I know I am and I'll learn form my booboo thus flames really aren't necessary...

I bought my first PSP a few weeks back and hacked it straight away to a fresh 3.40 OE-A install. I installed various Emulators, homebrew yada yada but then I decided to play with my XMB (uh oh!)

The first thing I did was to start copying over to my Flash0 and then it dawned on me that I hadn't backed-up... For a professional software tester that was a fucking HUGE mistake

Anyhoo I know the recovery will only work for Flash1 so that leaves me with two choices as far as I can see:-

    1. Reflash 3.40 OE-A to get all my defaults back to new.
    2. Install someone else's backup of the original files.

As I haven't a clue if CRC, filesize, naming etc is different for each machine I'd like to know if number 2 is a feasible solution of should I just risk a fresh firmware flash?

    What would Chuck do?

You say that you are a knob, you mean like a door knob?(lol) OK anyways you should go with the fresh install instead of using somebody elses files as it is more safer.

Cheers RL but I think I'm gonna go for a reflash to make sure it's all hunkydory...

Now do I need to repeat what I did before and upgrade to 3.50, downgrade to 1.50 and back up to 3.40 OE-A or is there an easier method, i.e. Just reflash the custom or just downgrade to 1.50 and back up?

No, recovery mode (the R trigger menu) works for flash1 AND flash0.

I know I can access flash0 and flash1 from Recovery 'mode' but I thought the recovery 'function' (instructions of which I'm researching now) only recovers flash0?

Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick?
