    I created this guide so that the old themes (3.52, 3.40, and 3.03 CFW) can be used on CFW 3.71 m33-3. This is contrary to the belief of others that anything you flash on 3.71's flash0 will brick/semi-brick it. The bricks and semi bricks thats been occuring in 3.71 is caused by a bug in the usb transfer system. but this has been fixed on 3.71 m33-3. so it is safe assuming that you are in 3.71 m33-3.

    RULES:
    *ONLY TRY THIS W/ 3.71 m33-3!!!
    *I won't be responsible for any bricks that may occur
    *Only do this if you have sufficient knowledge in flashing and PSP modding
    *it is recommended that you have a PUMS (pandora ultimate memory stick)

    As of now these are the only files which is available to convert. system plugin_fg.rco, system plugin.rco, savedata_utility.rco, opening_lugin.rco, impose plugin.rco, and game plugin .rco

    Gameboots Does work on 3.71. just copy your old gameboots. (there is no need to ceonvert). and also Alfox's guide on how to free space on your FLASH0 works. (just use the 3.40oea files)

    system plugin_bg.rco doesnt need to be converted so just copy and paste it. This is the case for 3.52 systemplugin_bg.rco. However 3.40 and 3.03 systemplugin_bg.rco need to be converted (thanks to woogle84 and alfox for reminding me about this)

    topmenu_plugins cannot be converted as of now so don't try doing it. this is because the old topmenu_plugin was split in two in 3.71.

    Here are the things you will need.
    1. 3.71 decrypted RCOs Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!
    2. RCO editor (google it. the latest version is 15c, i think.)

    After those are taken care of, lets proceed to the tutorial

    Steps

    1. place all the old RCOs in a folder on your PC. Name it "old theme"
    2. extract the 3.71 decrypted RCOs in to a folder and name it "New theme"
    3. next create folders with the file's name. (ex. if you want to convert savedata_utility.rco then create a folder named "savedata_utility". Repeat this for all the files you want to convert)
    4.run the RCO editor and open the file you want to convert (from the old theme of course)
    5. click extract all and extract it in the folder w/c has the same name as the file (ex. savedata_utility extracted files goes to the "savedata_utility" folder. repeat this until all of the files has been extracted to their corresponding folders)
    6. now open the files inside your "new theme" folder using the RCO editor.
    7. click replace all. it will then ask you the location of the files that you want to place in the decrypted files. choose the folder that corresponds to its name. (ex. if you are replacing the savedata_utility.rco from the new theme folder then choose the folder whose name is savedata_utility.)
    8. Repeat step 7 for all the files.
    9. after its done you'll notice that there are files in the "new theme" folder which contains the extension name .bak. these are the backup of your decrypted 3.71 files. keep these for future conversions.
    10. flash the files from the "new theme" folder to your flash0. (to be more safe flash it from the "extended pandora boot menu" if you have one.
    11. You're done.

    Just PM me for any questions. This is my first guide and I hope you guys will like this.

    One more thing. I will create a guide on how to convert your old custom coldboot sound to 3.71 once i have more time.

    if you like this guide please post your comments. thank you

    are you sure woogle?coz as far as i know and so far ive tried my old wave from 3.40oea to 3.71m33 and it semi bricked/hanged my psp.please make sure before you post.if you mean that custom wave of other versions would work with 3.71m33 then youre very wrong.

    guys ive edited the guide to correct some minor error on it. i hope this gets stickied

    @Midian
    sorry bout that. I thought that was the standard format for guides

    @woogle84
    tnx for pointing that out. i've forgotten to emphasize that it (system plugin_bg.rco) doesnt need conversion (for 3.52 m33.)

    @alfox
    tnx dude. you're one of the pips here who encouraged me to upgrade to 3.71 m33-3. Bro 3.52 system plugin_bg.rco can be flashed directly w/o conversion. However 3.40 and 3.03 themes needs to be converted

    ptf themes only hold the menu icons and wallpaper. it does not however hold the ability to hold custom coldboots, waves, and key tones. and this is what this guide is all about. comprende?
