SNES9x TYL 0.4.2 ME - is it still the best SNES emulator?

I've been using it for quite a while now... can't seem to find any updates for it. Nobody really says how good it is compared to other newer SNES emulators...

Is it still the best SNES emulator or is there an updated version of it or a better emulator?

the guy who coded it dropped out of the homebrew scene, so thats the best youll get unless someone deciedes to update it

I wish Zsnes would get the source code somehow into PSP Homebrew ...

Zsnes is in my opinion the best SNES Emulator for a computer.

it sucks that theres no update for the snes emulators. they are so close to being perfect... and damnit i want full speed super mario rpg :|

SNES is perfect for me...i just tried out every setting and everything runs smoooooooth.

im using Snes9xTYL 0.4me.

Zsnes does rock! And I'm using Snes9xTYL 0.4me also, I wouldn't say it runs everything smooth but very close to it. They just coped out at the worst time (when its almost done), it's not in bad enough standing to warrant someone coming in to finish it, hopefully someone does. Not sure if they released the source code or not tho.

True dat. I've been using ZSNES for like four years now. It'd rock on PSP!

The ZSNES source is under the GPL as of 2001 so I'm sure it's possible to port it.

I`m not sure if its the version im running but Zsnes runs sooooo slow for me. I`ll leave snes to my GP2X but GB advance is awesome on the psp

ZSNES isn't ON the PSP, it's a PC-only emulator... I thought we'd already established that we WANT it on PSP

You are most likely using one of the SNES9xTYL variants.

And most of my SNES roms run at full speed. The only problems I really have with it are slow (as in slideshow slow) fights in Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia. Oh, and pretty much everything is a slideshow in games like StarFox and Stunt Race FX. I guess the current SNES emulators for PSP can't emulate the SuperFX chip very well.

um......can someone give me the Source code for SNES? cuz i wish to improve on this already great emulator. I have a Great knowledge of C so i can be able to help finish this for once and for all.

well i hope this so called 69ers does the trick because the person who did the nesterj one,was a great emulator runs good.

well the nes isnt excatly a powerful system. u can run some of those games on a cellphone. neither is the snes really... but the emulators are very outdated, so u wouldnt know it by looking at the current emulation scene

well there is good homebrew people they are to lazy to make good emulators.

its not really about lazyness. they have their priorities out of line here. we need a updated snes emulator, not more friggen xmb mods and custom layouts
