Default Tales of Destiny crashes when attempting to load epsxe save via cwcheat

So I'm trying to get my epsxe save for Tales of Destiny onto my psp and it doesn't want to cooperate. I am using 3.03oe-c on the 3.03 kernel (1.5 has the same results) and cwcheat version 0.1.7. I've added the folder seplugins and all of its contents onto my memory stick. From here I went in to my recovery console and enable the plugin for both games and pops. I went in to my epsxe memcards folder and grabbed the epsxe000.mcr file renaming it SLUS_00626.mcr. I coppied this to the cwcheat mc folder.
Now when I go into the game at the menu screen I hold select and start up cwcheat and go down to manage memory cards. Here I select load memory card 1 from memory stick and then exit and then return to the game. Blammo! It crashes leaving random bits of text and blacked out area from cwcheats. After aboot 10 seconds it shuts down on its own and I am left with my old game save on restart.
I am not super far in the game (my chars are like lvl 11) and could just start over - but I want to figure out how to get this memory card conversion to work. It might just be a problem with this game as I have not attempted the conversion with any others. Any input would be awesome.
