Why is it so hard to get GBA games running great?
I mean..the PSP is a powerful machine. Why can't it do simple stuff like GBA games? The sound is horrible. The games don't even run fast enought o be really playable...Why can't the PSP do these games? |

Well if you think about it.... yes, the PSP is a powerful system (powerful enough to play PSX and N64 games to say the least, let alone its own games), but having to recode and port an emulator from the Nintendo code and syntax over to Sony's code isn't the easiest thing to do. Anyhow... the newer emulators should run faster. Also, use frameskip

The new gpSP 9 works FLAWLESSLY on mine. I'm playing Yoshi's Island MUCH better than the one for the SNES emu on PSP. I know everyone has covered this, but what can be done to try to get somebody to make a flawless SNES? 9x 0.4.2 is SO CLOSE, but it's that hair second of lag that you can barely detect that kinda hurts it for me. I honestly didn't think perfect emulation of GBA was possible, and boy and I glad I was wrong. |

Comparing that to a PS1 would be sad, because it would murder the PS1.

Make sure you make a folder called "Roms"(where you'll place your GBA roms) in the non-%. Make sure you have the GBA.bios in the same non-% I've heard if you Google and go to the first link you'll find the elusive GBA.bios. Run the emulator, highlight roms and press "O", because psp is now emulating GBA so "O"="A". Get my drift? Pressing "X" brings you to the gpSP menu, because "X" now ="B" which is back for GBA. My kids keep forgetting that one. But pressing "X" is ok because you can reload the game or load a new one. It's like pause. Hope this helps. |

Just use GBps0.9 and get the BIOS from a GBA dump, check ebay for a GBA dumper and dump your gba
