Default SNES Emulator question...

Hi,

I just downloaded the latest snes9xTYL emulator for my 3.40 OE-A firmware PSP. I acquired some ROMs, and went to the "Ultimate Emulator FAQ" and the "How to Install Emulators" guide on these forums. I notice two problems that I have...first of all, my 3.40 OE-A doesn't have a "GAME150" folder, and the 2nd is that when I drop the emulator in my plain "GAME" folder and try to run it, it gives me a "The program cannot be run," message. Should I create a GAME150 folder? Thanks in advance.

Default SNES Emulator question...

mind you that when i wrote that faq no custom firmware was available.. should be plenty of readme.txt's available though
also if you dont have a GAMES150 folder try creating one and drop the files in there

Default SNES Emulator question...

I tried creating the GAME150 folder and got nothing. I'll look around some more to see if anybody has an emulating guide for 3.40.

Backup your savedata folder and reformat your mem stick, the custom firmware will create all the folders you will need in all the right locations, once that is done, you will see the GAME150 folder, put all your shit in there and it will work...

EDIT: By the way, you will see it in the ms0:/psp/game150 , that's where it goes and that is where it will be if you reformat

Default SNES Emulator question...

Thanks, Apathy, that worked. Now, another issue. Some of the ROMs I have run really slow...like, probably half as fast as they should be running. I read some of the posts that say you should up your processor speed, and I did that (to 333 mhz) but it's not speeding it up at all. Then I tried frameskip 1 and frameskip 2 but that just made it run slow and made it really choppy. Any ideas?

Default SNES Emulator question...

Not many SNES games will run full speed on the PSP. I don't believe it's set up to take advantage of the graphics accelerator (unlike PlayStation ISOs) and thus the CPU has to pick up the tab.

I don't play many SNES games, but it should be a staple of any homebrewer. Donkey Kong 2 and Donkey Kong 3 (Once you're in a level and not on the world map) run very well and at full speed (except for certain bits).
