Default Fix for Resident Evil 2

Okay, downloaded firmware extender 2.0 and now it's back to the same crap. Freezing at the PS logo. Any ideas? I'm quite annoyed that it seems anytime you put some sort of module or app on the PSP, it seems to affect the popsloader somehow.

WOW. RE2 fixed. Now Dino Crisis is doing the same shit. Freezes at the "Violence and Gore" screen. And I did follow the fix guide for using the right game id. WTF.

You mean by holding R when starting up the game? Nope. Freezes

It's the exact same problems I was having with RE2 before finishing your tutorial (which I mentioned in on of my posts).

do the tutorial but use the 3.71 official update and get the same files but instead of putting 372 at the end put 371

Okay, now I'm really confused. I noticed in your direction you said to name the update "EBOOT.PBP" but in my MS, I never did. The 3.40 update was in the root, names 340.PBP (where RE2 was fine, which it still is under that update). Now, I tried having the 3.71 update named BOTH 371.PBP AND EBOOT.PBP, both in the root AND the pops folder. Each and every time, I choose 3.71 pops after booting the game and it still freezes every time (even after renaming all the files with 371 at the end!), and so does RE2 and every other PSX EBOOT I start now. I'm back to the confusion I had when I first entered your topic. Did I do something wrong or get lost in translation with something?

So if the 4 files you take and put in the popsloader folder have "340" at the end of it, that means that only 3.40 pops will work upon boot of the PSX game? Do I have that right? So I HAVE to rename them with 371 at the end if I'm going to go with 3.71 pops upon booting up the game?

I'm also running the 3.80 popsloader you provided, BTW. Could this be related to having 3.90 CFW? Because supposedly I heard PSX games sometimes have issues on it.

there should be no problems running the games on 3.90 CFW because thats what i am running.

to get 3.71 working u have to put the PSAR Dumper onto your PSP.put the 3.71 EBOOT onto the root of your MS.name it EBOOT.PBP.make sure there is no F0 folder on the root of your MS at the time.Run the PSAR Dumper.when it starts press square to decrypt all.when its done u should have the F0 folder back on your MS.go find the files u need and put 371 at the end.then put them into your popsloader folder and it should work.

when u want to install a new version of popsloder u have to get the OFW update of the version u want and use the PSAR Dumper EVERY TIME u want a new version.DO NOT DELETE THE FILES THAT ARE ALREADY IN YOUR POPSLOADER FOLDER.u can have 3.40 pops and 3.71 pops installed at the same time.

Okay, now I get it. I didn't realize you had to redo that process. Thanks. But YET, DC is STILL freezing at the "Violence and Gore" screen! Um, another pops perhaps? Also, after the whole process, what to do with the EBOOT.PBP? Rename it to 371.PBP I would assume since the previous EBOOT (340) would have to be overwritten. Does the EBOOT need to go in the seplugins/popsloader folder as well??? This is wierd.

Or am I getting the terms mixed up? When you say install popsloader, do you mean whichever version I get from DAX's site or which version I choose to use when I boot up the game and pops asks me which version?

once u r done using the PSAR Dumper u dont need the EBOOT.PBP anymore.u can just delete it.when i say popsloader i mean the version it asks for when u boot up the game.and ya try another pops version

EDIT:try 3.52 pops

Lol. Yeah, I don't know. Perhaps it IS an issue with the firmware. I couldn't say.
