Fix for Resident Evil 2
I made this tutorial because i kept seeing people complaining about the game freezing at the screen that says "this game contains violence".i have tested up to 3.80 M33-5.This also works for fixing the freeze after the opening scene in RE3. Stuff Needed:
New PSARDUMPER(found here)
3.80 M33 Popsloader Version2(found here)
3.40 official update(found here) Tutorial:
Unpack the newpsardumper folder to PSP/GAME (set it to 3.80 kernel)
Unpack the Update eboot in the ROOT of your memory stick and call it EBOOT.PBP.
Start newpsardumper on your psp, press [_] (square) to decrypt all files.
You will end up with a F0 folder on your psp root.
Copy it to your pc.
Take the seplugins folder from the 3.80 M33 popsloader folder and put it in the ROOT of your memory stick.
Now look in the F0 folder u copied to your computer.First go to the kd folder and find popsman.prx and pops.prx.rename them to popsman340.prx and pops340.prx.
Next go into the vsh folder then into module.Find pafmini.prx and libpspvmc.prx.rename those to pafmini340.prx and libpspvmc340.prx.
Now take the files you need and place them in the seplugins/popsloader folder.
Now turn off your PSP then turn it back on while holding down R which will take u to recovery mode.Go to plugins and enable popsloader.
How to use it?
When u start a game for the first time, the popsloader menu will pop up automatically. When it pops up pick 3.40 pops. The second time it will load the last pops used. if u want a other popsversion hold R when launching a game and the pops selection menu will pop up, Select the pops of your chose.
Thats it! Enjoy your games. (I'm loving it!)

Nice post. I used the same method to get Brave Fencer Musashi working. |

So this makes it playable on the slim?
You said to unpack the dumper folder to GAME and "set it to 3.80 kernel." Um, how do you "set it?"
And what about for M33 3.90?

And what about for M33 3.90? | u set it by going to recovery mode and then go to configuration.make sure it says 3.90 kernel next to Game folder hombrew.it should on a slim and yes it works on 3.90 M33

MUST it be the 3.80 version? Or is there a 3.90 version to go along with the 3.90 CFW to use for this process?
*EDIT*
Tried that as well. What do you mean when you say "move the files you need to the seplugins folder?" What files? Because I followed the instructions exactly besides whatever files those are, and I started RE2, and right after the Sony logo disappears, the game freezes and I have to take out my battery. If I hold R I see the pops version selection, but after I select 3.40 like you said it also freezes. It's happening whether I use 3.80 or 3.90.

take the files that you renamed which are popsman340.prx, pops340.prx, pafmini340.prx, libpspvmc340.prx.
put those files into the popsloader folder which is in the seplugins folder.

Yet, in the meantime I was messing around and I just did everything you mentioned BESIDES moving the files, and I didn't enable the popsloader from the recovery mode. Yet despite this, just with the other steps implemented, RE2 is now running fine on my Slim. In any case, it was your guide that helped. I'm playing RE2 on my Slim! Thanks! |

I also have a Slim but the popsloader isn't starting up when I launch the game. When I did all the steps usmcgoo mentioned then launched the game I received the "game could not be Read" error. My Slim is running 3.71 M33-4. Would I need the 3.71 OFW update as oppossed to the 3.80?
I then did what PowerPunk mentioned and it just froze on the "Violence and Gore" menu.
Also, do I need to have both discs in there for it to work?
I know this thread is exactly what I'm looking for, thanks, usmcgoo!!!

I know this thread is exactly what I'm looking for, thanks, usmcgoo!!! | if u have 3.71 M33 through 3.71 M33-4 u need the regular popsloader which u can find at dark-alex.org.then just do use the tutorial and it should work.

Fix for Resident Evil 2
Sweet, it worked!!!!
I did everything mentioned in this tutorial. The only thing changed was using the M33popsloader (also found in DAX's site) as opposed to using the 3.80 M33 Popsloader (just like mentioned by usmcgoo).
Thanks, Bro.! Now I can play this hard ass game... lol

Fix for Resident Evil 2
Hello, i have a trouble trying to play RE3 and GT2 on my 3.90 M33 PSP... they worked well with 3.80 M33 (all versions), i was using original flash popsloader, and all was right. But now, they freezes at some points (RE3 at PSX logo, GT2 before loading saves) I have tried to install popsloader, but i have used OFW 3.72, of course i have renamed files correctly When i start a game for first time, it asks me which version of the pops i want to use. I select 3.72, but i receive the error "can't start the game (80000004)" Of course if i select another pops version, console freezes and i have to remove my battery. If i select flash original pops, as i said, game freezes (but in that case, the console does not freeze totally, and i can exit from the game).
What can i do? Thanks in advance

Damn. Since I upgraded to 3.90 M33-2, Popsloader no longer shows up in plugins under recovery, and once again the game freezes
EDIT: NVM. It seems the popsloader.prx is, for some reason, disabled while I have CWCheat installed. I just got rid of it.
