Default Playstation Settings on PSP

Hey guys, I recently borrowed my friends PSP and he has Xenogears on it. I was playing and when I pressed the home button I went to settings then Disc-Load Speed. In Disc-Load Speed, it gives you the option of Normal or Fast. I was wondering what this is for. Sometime the games would get laggy and I was wondering if I changed the Disc-Load Speed to Fast would I get some improvement? Also, if I change the Disc-Load Speed will it have any ill effects on the PSP because I don't want to break my friend's PSP Thanks

1. Disk loading speed just lets you speed up loading times for your ISO.
2. It won't damage it at all. All it does is speed things up. You may have a shorter battery life though. But you probably won't even notice it.

Oh, Alright thanks for the info. I will definitely change it to high now since I usually play with the charger plugged in so the battery won't really matter to me.

Well it says that you should keep it at Normal speed when playing FF7. Is there any reason for this? (I haven't tried it yet, still searching for an NTSC copy of FF7 I can borrow so the game plays normally :-P)

It wouldn't actually speed the game up, just some of the loading times. It won't ever make a huge difference.

Exactly. All it does is speed the loading times up by the tiniest amount. You probably won't even notice it. I play FF7 and Mega Man X4 all the time and I don't notice. I keep it at Normal since the loading times don't really take more than 4 seconds and the game itself doesn't go any faster.

Well, I turned it on fast and the loading times aren't noticeable so I changed it back to normal. Thanks for all the information though guys.
