Default FF:VII Fix Thread

First of all, hi!

I've got a PSP Slim (FW: 3.80 M33-5) and have been trying to get the files for popsloader to work. The problem is that I don't know which EBOOT.PBP I need to use to make FFVII work. Whenever I run NEW PSARDUMPER, I try to extract all files by pressing square, and I get an "Error Reading EBOOT.PBP" (BTW, I copied the EBOOT.PBP to the root of the MS).
I tried using the files of the guide for using PopsLoader, but it won't work.
I'm probably doing something wrong, but the truth is that I'm out of ideas...

Hi,
I also have been trying to get FF7 to work on my PSP. I have 3.71 installed. Along with the plugin enabled and the prx's you uploaded. I load up the ff7 eboot and i get to the selection screen. I choose "original flash"(whatever it says). The PSX symbol loads up and after that, it goes to a black screen. Any ideas? Thanks

If you have CFW 3.71, you don't need to run PopsLoader, since the firmware your are currently running runs FF:VII smoothly.

The EBOOT that you need for PSARDUMPER is the one that contains the firmware that you wish to emulate on PopsLoader, not the EBOOT of the game itself.

Thanks to all for the feedback!

I think I've got it all set, but don't have my PSP with me right now... Guess I'll have to wait to see if it works...
The problem was that I was using the wrong EBOOT.PBP (I was using one from dark-alex.org).

Thanks again!!

I'm actually having problems now.

I have the 3.71 EBOOT in the root folder, I have popsloader, but when I try to run new psardumper (I'm on 3.9 m33-2) it says I need at least version 2.71...wtf?

I need help...I'm getting frustrated

I'm Running M33 3.52 and everything is running perfectly so far. *knock on wood* =-) Granted, I've only played the game for 30 minutes so far. I hope no problems arise!

I'm glad someone had a post about this game in particular since this is why I wanted to start modding my PSP in the first place. Thanks a lot! Hopefully within the next couple of weeks I can read up enough to figure out how to get everything working.

Problem:

My game freezes on the very first battle, when Cloud jumps off the train.

Solution:

You need to install PopsLoader, along with appropriate files pertinent to FW 3.71.

There's a tutorial on using PopsLoader.
