Default Is there any way to make SNES roms work that are really slow?

on some I guess it doesn't find speed hacks so they are ultra slow, is there a way to fix this?

You can look and see what speed you emu is running at, it should be 333mhz, if it isnt change it. Also what snes game is running slow for you?

Yeah it's at 333mhz. I want to play Super Turrican, Super Turrican 2, and Dixie Kong's double trouble or w/e

Go to the "Hack/debug menu" under "MISC", you'll find a number of options there. Most of them, when toggled, will improve speed at the expense of graphics. Experiment with them until you find something that works for you. You can also lower the audio frequency, but if you're using the media engine version that shouldn't make much of a difference.

Even if there are speedhacks for some games, they're still going to be slow. I've gone over this in a number of other threads, and what it comes down to in the end is that Snes9xtyl is ported from a PC-based emulator and not coded specifically for the PSP.

i'm having the same problem with star ocean (translated). it works fine on pc emulators, so i think that the psp emulator is not perfected yet. i haven't seen an snes upgrade in a while, but who knows, they might fix it anytime.

Try toggling background layers in the hacks menu, sometimes there are graphics that add little to the gameplay which slow the framerate down, like the background layer 3 in Super Metroid (slows framerate down somewhat in Norfair, for instance, but without it you get 58-60 fps).

hey genjack just follow tets advice. or if eloquence is everything to you then... Pimp your SNES I play Star Ocean and it runs very acceptably for me. Some of the voice overs are a little garbled and it slows down sometimes, but twaek with it and you'll be happy you did. That game is amazing.

just enable the hack/debug option then hold the right trigger and press select

it will do the frameskip debug

most snes games will work fine on 4 frameskip
