Firmware Installed: 3.90

Default New and stumped?

Here's the story right now:

I was at work discussing videogames with a coworker, and we got on the topic of PSP, and he informed me that it could be used as an emulator for older systems, which appeals greatly to me, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

My first move was to google emulators, and after some searching, i found a RAR file with numerous different types of emulators for 3.xx firmware (I am currently running 3.90) and downloaded it to my PSP. After trying to run several of the emulators, I'm met with an error message with the numbers (80020148).

After some more searching through the forums here, the conclusion that I think I've come to is that I need some kind of custom firmware specific to the firmware I already have. There are a number of terms, such as magic memory card, and something about a battery, that have confused the issue a bit, and what I'm looking for is pretty simple, although perhaps complex in its complexity. Can anybody run me through the steps, start to finish, that I need to complete to make emulators run on my PSP? I've tried to piece it together by looking through these forums, but am having some trouble understanding what is what. All help is appreciated.

google Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick.
The kit is about tweny bucks. If you make your own magic memory stick (Rains UltraLite MMS Maker for 5.00 M33-4, PSP Hacks - PSP Slim Hacks), itl be about 5-7 bucks. Once you get the battery and mms, but the mms in, hold down the left trigger and put the battery in (you must hold the left trigger down!). A menu should come up, just select "Install X.XXm33"

Do not talk about downloading games or you will be banned.

k, Well, first off, what version psp do you have?

psp fat? (1000) psp slim (2000) or lite (3000)

Lite is un hackable, some slims are hackable, and all fats are hackable.

So uh you said your firmware is 3.90. so you can use this:

http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-fir...sp-any-fw.html (PSP CFW ON ANY PHAT OR HACKABLE SLIM ( without pandora ) or 2nd psp and any fw)

Psp 1001, soft mod battery.
