i'm running cfw 3.80m33-5. i'm just trying to play some psx games. i installed popsloader and made an eboot.pbp in popstation but the game doesn't show up [yes, i enabled popsloader in recovery mode].
since it's not working should i just switch to a different cfw that is possibly more compatible with psx games, and then try to get the games working on that cfw? it seems like a lot of people are recommending cfw 5.00 or cfw 3.71. will changing my cfw now affect snes9x or gpsp emulators? |

Ive got 4.01m33-2 on my phat. I just create the (name of game) folder and put the eboot inside it. And upgrading to another CFW should not affect your emulators |

new question: what do you recommend for converting multidisk platforms into an eboot.pbp? |

Just so you know, you don't NEED popsloader to play PSX games, your firmware already has it built in, it's called pops. You only need to use popsloader if your current version of pops (5.00 in your case) doesn't play certain games. Popsloader does as it's name suggests and loads older versions of pops that are compatible with those games.
See this compatibility list to see what i mean: PSX on PSP Compatibility List - TheGamersPress |

in the description of the program on that link, it says it "- Will now automatically detect if the game is a multi-disc game, and fix it appropriately"
i selected disc one and made the eboot. no fixes were made, i just have disc one now.
am i doing something wrong? i want all the discs for the game to be in a single eboot. |

Copied from a FF8 guide, obviously put IX instead and the right game code:
1) Download "Simple Popstation GUI" which can be obtained from the attachments, extract and load up mdGUI.
2) A menu should pop up, now type "Final Fantasy VIII" in the main EBOOT title field for the "Main ID" SLPS02180.
3) Choose the ISO file for the disks, now you can choose how many discs you want from 2-4 discs (must have at least two discs).
4) Now you must choose the IDs for each discs, SLPS02180 for all of them, yes they all have to be the same and for the compression level, 9 prefably.
5) You can customize the EBOOT if you want by clicking the "Customize" tab, save to PSP>GAME.
6) Check if everthings ok, if so click convert. |
