Default Extremely new to this and getting a little overwhelmed.

Hi guys, I have been searching around online the last couple days and am getting totally overwhelmed with what I need to do to mod my psp. I have the fat psp with ofw 3.90. All I want to do is be able to play psx and neo geo games on my psp. I looked around for a battery for it so I can try to pandora it, but I've only found slim psp batteries, so I was looking at ones to buy, but not sure what places are legit. Second, once i get the pandora battery not even sure what cfw to get. I watched some vids and read some guides and I think I would be good actually putting on popsloader and the new geo emulater (also dont know what the best one is and for what firmware).

Any help would be appreciated. If anyone could just lay it out for me what steps i need....get this battery, this firmware, etc. Try not not to flame pls lol!

Use the easy cfw guide in my sig make your own pandora its really easy from there you should update to 4.01 m33-2 its also in my sig ( 4.01 m33 updater ) and then once that is installed ...LOl you will take the popsloader (Again in my sig) and take the 3.80 popsloader and place it how i tell you to in the pops folder. Hope this helps

Yes that helps alot. For the Pandora's battery, I looked around were I live and they only sell the psp2000 batterys. So if i pandora the one I have in there now, I wouldnt have a battery to use for playing. Unless anyone is selling one for a decent price or know where I can order one from...just not sure where from.

Also any info on the neo geo emu?

Thanks again

Well for the battery if you got a good soldering skill you can revert your pandora phat battery back to normal ive also heard of time machine but ive never used nor looked up information on it. Im sure the psp mods shop is selling one your welcome to look their trustworthy and cheap. Just incase you dont see the button

As for the neo geo emu.

http://www.pspmod.com/forums/downloa...?do=file&id=13

hmmm I know a friend of mine couldn't find a phat battery for sell so he just bought another used psp and that had lower firmware on it. allowing him to downgrade and upgrade without even using it. and sold his other one... I'm not saying you'll have that luck. but all old psp's probably still have the phat batteries inside of them. you could always just buy another psp to get a phat battery. you can never have too many psp's

wow. I went on gamestop.com to see just how expensive a phat went for. and I couldn't find one. hmmm wonder if that's just in my area. or if gamestops are not selling phats anymore? but yeah no doubt it's cheaper to get a battery :P

could probably get 2 and still be saving a bit of money.

Hey man, its understandable to be a little overwhelmed especially since theres so much information out there.
I would say the best way to go would be a pandora battery and MMS. There are alot of guides out there but the 2 i would suggest are hercules guide in the guide section and my guide at Tweaks & Projects

Your concern about the slim battery is unfounded since you can still turn a slim battery into a pandora. If you dont think you have the steady hand with a soldering iron then you should consider buying one, that way you can have a good one even without risking your original battery.
A magic media stick is easy to do since its all software.

Now in regards to which firmware rev to use, its your choice. The newer fw revs have all the bells and whistles from sony, their only downfall is that some of the older homebrew apps are not compatible with new fw.
The downfall of older cfw is that some of the new games will not work with them.
Just install any cfw you can get into your psp, once you have cfw you can change revisions as many times as you want to find the best one for you

You dont need a soldering iron for the slim battery just a knife and if you hardmod a slim battery you can revert it using a pencil...

i suggested him 4.01m33 for a reason... Its been out for awhile now and its in the middle so almost everything works for it.

hercules guide was updated with the rains installer whitch makes 4.01 m33-2 mms so telling him about the 4.01 m33 updater wasnt really needed, but overall good job.and to the owner of this thread all i gotta say is from what ive seen fayko has learned enough to give good advice, and honestly i dont believe you can go wrong listening to him.its good when people apply knowledge and then help out others with this knowledge and i commend him for such.good job fay <3
